Ok I get it, NE MT is remote but what exactly is wrong with that? My family farm/ranch that I lived on as a kid and spent my summers at was a kids dream and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I'd actually like to personally invite you out to NE Montana AZ during hunting season to experience it sometime. The people are salt of the earth honest hard working folks, some of the best people i've ever met. Nothing wrong with small town Montana at all, shoot I live in a city now and there are many days i'd move back to the ranch and live that life. My experience with Texans is brag brag brag brag and drive big trucks and wear cowboy hats and belt buckles however many in the cities down there have never got a lick of dirt on those brand new boots they have or got a lick of dirt on that brand new F350. Again the invitation is out there come up and hunt in NE Montana some time we'd love to have you!

It's amazing how little a place being flat, having cheap housing/no state income tax, and having bugs and humidity during the summer plays into the ability to host an FCS Championship game.

Advantages to Frisco

1.) Massive airport
2.) Decent weather
3.) Modern stadium with capacity that allows enough fans to see the game and looks good on TV (half filled 40k stadium looks far worse than packed 20k stadium
4.) Hotels are cheap and easy to get rooms
5.) Good selection of bars/restaurants
6.) Alot of places to hold pep fests, alumni gatherings etc.
7.) Easy to drive to and has parking

I really can't see a negative to holding it there. Would I vacation or live there? No. Is it a good place to hold an FCS Championship game? Absolutely.

Chattanooga has all those things (likely in excess of Frisco in most cases), except the airport. But it does have Atlanta and Nashville within an easy 90 minute freeway drive.

The only difference I see is that Chattanooga most definitely IS a place you'd want to vacation or live.

I would have to travel either way. DFW is a cheaper flight for me than Fargo.

Chattanooga has all those things (likely in excess of Frisco in most cases), except the airport. But it does have Atlanta and Nashville within an easy 90 minute freeway drive.

The only difference I see is that Chattanooga most definitely IS a place you'd want to vacation or live.

There is a huge difference in stadium quality. I have been to both. The stadium in Chatty sucks. Toyota Stadium is a far better venue.

I don't see a downside to hosting in Frisco. Other than the turf debacle in January 2014, I think it has been a great venue. I also like the fact that the game is played at a neutral field without a Marshall scenario happening.

Hunted by there a few times (Rock Creek, Bitter Creek, and right by the border. Not a lot of luck on the public lands (or Block management), the good deer we saw were on private ground that was off limits. Did enjoy a scenic visit to St. Maries....great site to film an apocalypse movie

Born and raised small town Montana, chief. I'm all about it. Also spent an entire summer working the Sidney/Plentywood/Crosby ND triangle while on an oil crew in '81. My photos were more to challenge the flat & dirty assertion....Not sure how long you were in Dallas, but you should give it (and Texas) a second chance. The peeps here really are pretty down to earth--give you the shirt off their back if you asked. But, like Montanans, they LOVE their state and do like to brag about it. :thumb:

Flights are far easier and cheaper to DFW than Chatty. I hope it does not leave Frisco.

The Griz sure do have a lot of experience making it to the title game. If NDSU gets beat next weekend, maybe I will shoot you a PM to see how a Griz fan would handle it. You guys do have more experience watching championship game losses than fans of any other program. :thumb:
