N. Iowa Transfer QB offer

Easily. No projection there. He couldn't start for a 6-6 FCS team so he's your man in spite of no one at our level showing interest. He wouldn't win the job here.

No one at our level showing interest? He has 11 other D1 offers FFS, besides UM. What are you talking about?

Central Ark
Chattanooga
SEMO
North Texas
Eastern Illinois
Idaho
UT Martin
Saint Francis
Merrimack
Western Carolina
RMU
I'm talking about those programs, maybe with the exception of N. TX, not being at the success level of this program. And in that case I would bet it goes no farther than an invite to walk-on, which is probably the case with us as well.

Agreed, Kem. This is a no-brainer. It feels like there is a panic button on eGriz and Twitter and everyone wants Hauck to push it. Patients will win this and coaches should wait for the right fit. I don’t see it here.

I mean, I agree with you that I think we can do better than this kid, but the coaches already offered, so they kind of already pushed the button, no?

True, for sure. I think the better option hasn’t shown it’s head yet. Hoping that’s the case here.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we brought in another guy, and knowing Hauck and co., McElvain was only offered the opportunity to come in and compete for the job.

But another part of me thinks that if they thought they had an in with a big-time dropdown, they wouldn't have offered McElvain.

I guess we'll find out.

One thing is for sure, Bobby will have us driving another Dodge neon before we ever get a Toyota Tacoma or Ram TRX

My question is...who from Idaho is making this decision? They don't have a head coach....it is not like an interim guy trying to hold on to previous commits which makes sense, this is shopping for a new player that the new head coach might not want. Or is the new head coach actually decided on and is pulling strings in secret

My guess is, we offered this UNI kid, because Hauck knows a Griz QB or 2 will be leaving.

I guess for me it is like I already have all the sides - baked beans, cornbread, ooey gooey mac and cheese, pickles and then someone orders a plate of tofu with a side of bbq sauce when there is already 2 or 3 plates of it sitting on the table that aren't tasting too hot. Where's the prime cut, dry rubbed, and slow cooked ribs man.

he got the offer a week or so before Petrino was fired.

Didn't Wolfman promise us a big splash transfer QB that was coming in January? So what is everyone fretting over?

Cooper getting a lot of attention from Griz coaches and staff

Wonder if our offer was too late for him…..couldn’t visit and check it out. Oh well I’m quite certain we will have a pleasant surprise at QB coming in

Haha that seemed to be the view for some! This will sound mean, but after watching our back ups play this season I would’ve been thrilled to land this guy and at least have him in the mix. Our back ups have a very very very long ways to go.

I think that’s definitely part of it. We have been late on some offers and it has hurt us.

I still think we get a QB probably two via transfer.
