My Starting 5......What is yours?

So what you are saying.." Players turn the ball over because they are agressive"

So in your perfect basketball world..you would have a rating ..kinda like a QB rating
Turnovers +fouls +foul attempts ...the higher number the better player.
wrong..

I say turnovers =Bad
smart with the ball =good
good passes=good
knowing your role=good
not forcing it=good
team player=good

IMo the Griz are doing better this year because player are learning and knowing their roles and everyone is working off the other players stengths and weakness.

Bottom line..Griz coaches get paid some pretty good money to decide on who starts and it seems to
me they have decided now for the third year in row to start Staudacker... i know, I know..probably the only reason they did this though is because of thier "man crush"

Go Griz.

Go Griz.

I have a man crush on AJ.........We all have our 'boys" and yours just happens to be Staudacher.
I see your points, however, I dont agree with them.........life goes on. Relax bro bro
BTW its Staudacher just an "FYI". If I was Stauds I would be upset with you

There is no excuse why Tinkle can't get Stauds wide open looks this year. We have too many weapons for teams to focus on Staudacher. Am I right on this?

Johnson
Young
Qvale

Are the foundation. I know Young has been a little inconsistent but he is one of the most talented players the griz have. He needs to get on the floor. Just like AJ started out slow last year, he turned it one as conference came around.

I might play with the last two spots depending on the opponents. I like McGillis as an over all utility kind of player. I might start Cherry against athletic front court. I might start Stuad against zone teams. I would love to get Selvig in the starting line up when he is healthy. I also like Ward for his hustle, and aggressiveness.

I agree with your three choices. I would like the griz to set better screens. This might help Stuad get set a little sooner for the 3. I'm not sure Selvig will be a lot of help with that injury. They never heal without major work. I would like to see what Hutchinson brings as soon as he is healthy. I do like Wards work ethic. I think McGillis could bring energy off the bench and be more effective in that role. Still get major minutes. Taylor is my wild card.

I can't stand seeing Stauds start and get so much PT. He's so one-dimensional it's pathetic. He can shoot the 3 and that's it. He has like 10 career free-throws (besides technical shots). Has he EVER had a dribble-drive into the paint? Seriously? He is either wide-open and he nails a 3, or he is pretty-much taking up space. Sorry about anyone's feelings. I want results. He seems like a good guy but he has like 1/10 the talent of Raason Young.

Cherry
AJ
McGillis
Young
Qvale

I looked it up: 24 career free-throws for a,what, 3-year starting Senior? That is pathetic. I swear, half of those were technical shots. 0-0 this year. 6 games in, the starting guard. There hasn't been a Technical on the other team yet. lol Have you ever heard of anything like that? WHY are ppl so high on him?

I'm not.

I tell you what, I am sold on Cherry........He needs to start form here on out. He played great against UO, but pretty much took the grizzly bears on his shoulders @ UW. Funny, Cherry is opening eyes against Pac-10 schools!!!! Love it!!

As for Cherry's shot............... hopefully Tinkle and crew has a coach that can develop his shot. Gaurds that cannot shoot at least 80 percent, from the charity stripe, drive me up the wall.

I have an Idea: When Stauds is not getting his shots (being sarcastic Staud lovers!), which is happening about 30 plus minutes a contest, he can give Cherry all the helpful hints and advice on how to shoot a textbook jumper.
We will leave the free throw hints up to AJ.

I feel great about this team :D . Go Griz!!!!!!!
