I'd like to say thank you again to the state of Montana for your hospitality.

I arrived in Missoula friday night and the following morning i awoke to see 3 of my tires flat with one nail in each tire. While on the phone with a tow truck a gentlemen from Billings was out checking my tires. I went out to confront him thinking he was responsible for the damage only to find he had already plugged two and was working on the third. Within 30 minutes all 3 tires were aired up and i was ready to hand him cash for his services. He accepted only a handshake and said welcome to Montana, Now get your ass to the game before you miss the tailgates.

Oddly enough, this same gentlemen Jumped my car for me at the end of the game, "small world".

He gave me only his first name and shook my hand again and wished me a save drive home.

Josh, thank you again. Despite the loss, my first visit to Montana was something i will never forget.

Unfortunately, nails are a common occurrence for tires in Montana. I have had to deal with nails, screws and I even picked up a bolt this year. Be thankful you were not here long enough to get your windshield cracked by gravel. Or did you?

The nails sound like the shoddy work of a Bobcat fan.

Thanks for your post, and I'm certainly glad Montanans showed you what they are made of.

However, I am extremely disappointed if somone purposly damaged your tires. That is NOT the way things are done in Montana.

Thanks for coming up for the game; Poly fans are ALWAYS welcome in Missoula.

I always travel with a patch kit just in case. I'ts good you made it home safely and thank you for the kind words.

"Calpoly1" Phoned me when he arrived at home, the nails came from his roof which he had just replaced. Somehow he made it all the way to Missoula without an incident. They must have let go when it cooled down that night.

I hope you made it all the way home before you found the Grizz sticker i put on your bumper :D

Californians make automotive repairs with asphalt shingles :?:

This must be the weirdest story since the Roswell Incident...

The only surprise here is how far he got before he had a problem. Somehow this is very common with roofers today. We had ours replaced a week or so ago and, although we "policed up" the nails scattered in the driveway, we still managed to catch one in a tire. :(

(Way) back in the day, when I worked on a roofing crew, I do not recall inflicting this problem on the clients. But then, we carried our nails in a waist satchel and whacked them in by hand.

Calpoly, Good you ended up finding somebody to help you... That's how we roll here... I'm from Seattle, and you would have a better chance of winning Mega than some stranger helping you...

My story is me and a buddy were in Arkansas going to Seattle, and stopped at a Hotel in Wyoming... I badly needed a brake pad change, bet you can figure out how easy that would be without tools and a breaker bar after driving that far...

I was contemplating waiting until morning when a gentleman dropped off a tool box, and said "Put them by room ___ when you're done", and he walked away... Me and my buddy were just looking at each other like ??? If you do that in Seattle, you don't own tools anymore...

The guy even went out and bought a breaker bar from a hardware store... Couple that with the drive thru gas station in the parking lot serving Mixed Drinks out the window, and we WERE in the Twilight Zone!!!

I tried to pay the guy... Nope... He just said something along the lines of "Pay it Forward", which I do all the time... We stopped at a rest stop in Montana, and my brain cell challenged buddy said "Good thing the tire held out"... "What tire"??? I said... "The one with the nail in it"... "And when did you notice that"??? "Oh, that must have been in Oklahoma".... "WHERE"!!!!?????....

I made him drive it all over the lot until I checked all the tires... No nails, but a tire tech confirmed one had been repaired... Wonder who did that??? Miyagi Do

As far as the game, CP scared the bleep out of me... Good Luck going forward...
