My Analysis of the Season So Far

8 W's. There are no dellusion's about that. THAT IS A FACT! And in college football it's the ONLY fact that matters. If you're not entertained by those 8 W's, too bad. You can always go cheer for a more "entertaining team".

No shit.

my analysis is that Griz are damn lucky to have JJ and Henderson playing as clutch or Griz would be 5-5 instead of 8-2.

Isn't this like saying, "It's damn lucky ewoo has Shoota and Cupp?? Or that msu has DM? Or that it's lucky that Bill Gates has a few bucks in his wallet??

Sorry, but that's just a STUPID comment.

Really guys. A win is a win. No matter how it comes. WOW. I guess if we schedule a bunch d2 teams or some bottom feeder fcs games we will be happy because we get the win. Then we don't have to worry about our record. That is so much BS. Yes I am happy we won but I am not going to sit here and say the griz is playing there best football. If you think they are playing up to what there potential is then I have a bridge to sell you. You judge a season by wins yes but also is the team getting better week to week and are they playing up to talent on the team.
The teams is not getting better week to week and they are playing way below the talent on the team. So if I was giving a grade out
Wins: A- We are having a good year s far.
Coaching: C The team is playing mistake free football on the most part. But the game plans are predictable and the other teams are better coached.
Potential: C Our play makers are making great plays but not consistent. Our O-line is playing horrible to there talent. And our front 7 on defense is suppose to be the best in FCS but cant stop the run or put pressure on the qb.

Flowtown: What part of scheduling don't you understand. 1. YOU DID NOT KNOW THAT APP. STATE WAS GOING TO BE BAD AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON. The Griz dominated that game. What else were they supposed to do? 2. Panhandle was a joke of a game, but almost every GREAT Grizzly team in the past 30 years has played a DII in that season. 3. North Dakota: YOU DID NOT KNOW IN JULY THE SIOUX WOULD SUCK. The Griz smoked them. What more were they supposed to in that game???? 4. South Dakota. The Yotes' were a hell of a lot better than they were a season ago. PERIOD. The Griz played poorly on offense in that game and still won. Those are the four games that were under the control of the University of Montana as far as scheduling is concerned. Conference games are not under UM's control. Why in the HELL is this something so many people aren't getting??? The Griz play the teams they're told to play by whoever makes the Big Sky schedule. And for your info, UM didn't play all the bottom feeders in the Big Sky this year either. They didn't play Northern Colorado or Idaho State. So no, Montana has not played the a weak Big Sky sched either.

Bitch about the team all you want. It's well within your right. But this schedule thing is getting so stupid, it's not even something to laugh at anymore. Now, Flowtown, since I directed this solely at you, IF you provide links to quotes where YOU said Appy and North Dakota were FCS bottom feeders BEFORE Aug. 30, the I will happily apologize.

I wish we had played okpsu 10 times! The griz would be 10 - 0!!! That would be the greatest thing this fan had ever seen! The fans could push out of our minds the problems that won't allow this team to make a deep run...

I would skip to work screaming "10-0 baby!!!!!"

People with football knowledge would say to me, "the griz will get killed by a good team in the playoffs", and I would stick my fingers in my ears and scream " la la la la la la la la la la la la la la...I can't hear you!"

I wasn't applying that we purposely made week schedule. The schedule this year is a good schedule. I was applying that if we judge how the griz are doing by just wins then we should schedule weak inferior opponents. Then we would have a great year for every year until we play someone that is good. All I am saying is that you can't just judge how we are doing by looking at the wins. We should be rolling over most of the teams we played. WE ARE NOT PLAYING UP TO OUR POTENTIAL. Blame it on the coaching or something like else it is plain fact. If you think we are you need to take off your maroon glass and visit the real world.

So stubby, does that mean you're comparing Poly and Sac. State to Panhandle State?
No...
Well, sac state gave me pause..
I think it's great that the griz are 8-2....nobody yells at the games or tv louder than I do, and I think it's fine to be extremely happy about an 8-2 season so far. Buuuuuuut, I also thought everybody loved the fcs because of the playoffs. Because, if the goal is to just have a fine season and not make a serious run, what's the difference between that and a fine season with a bowl win. If that's true, then shouldn't those same people also be concerned that there are some major fucking holes in this team?

If the answer to that is yes, then shouldn't you looks little deeper than 8 wins, knowing there is a difference between the griz wins, and say ewu's first 8 wins?

And if the answer is no to those questions, then why does anyone care if other fans do want to analyze a little deeper? Also, I use the term analyze veeeeerrrryyy loosely here.

Two subject matters in this post, not meant to be a move up post.

The griz are 0-2 versus ranked teams and have won every game against none ranked teams. We are not playing up to our potential. The players have heart and don't quit and win games that weshould have lost. Specially the last two game we have played. The game plans are simple and the other teams are better coached then our team. That is the only reason I can think of why we almost lost the two games to unranked teams. Yes a win is a win. But if you have to scratch by teams you should have taken to the wood shed is that a good win. The griz are not playing up to there potential is my biggest problem this year. Yes we are winning but when we play a good team we are going to lose. If you like a team playing badly but being able to win on heart and some luck. Ya this team is doing good but if like a team to play up to its potential this years team isn't a good year. Like I said I don't blame the players I blame the coaching.

I agree. The title of this thread is "My Analysis of the Season," and my analysis is that Griz are damn lucky to have JJ and Henderson playing as clutch or Griz would be 5-5 instead of 8-2.

I am glad Griz are 8-2, but unlike short-sighted delusional fans, I realize how close Griz are to having a mediocre record like last year, and at some point player heroics will not compensate for mediocre coaching.
Well I suppose the same argument could be made that last year's team could've easily won 3 more games. As they say in sports "you are what your record says you are".
