MSU under DOE investigation

You know what's so tiresome/tedious about this whole thing? If this exact situation was going on at UM, Griz fans minus like 6 activists would be totally pissed and up in arms about it. And they'd be right. But because it's Bozeman, there's all this pearl clutching and fake outrage. It's so boring.

It’s amazing what football envy does.

I have never been on the Bobcat board so I'm curious if there are a bunch of A$$#ole griz Fans that post over there all day? Or is it Just cat fans that are annoying over here?

You don't have to read it or post about it on eGriz.

This isn’t a political issue. It’s a human rights issue. Stop trying to make it about politics. :rule: :rule:

No, it’s pretty political. Sounds like it was pretty clearly investigated delt with per the article, but now the mob wasn’t happy with the result. Since it’s 2023 we get to cry and ask them to try again. Someone will get threatened to be cancelled and they’ll make up some undeserved punishment. That’s the new standard.

Let's assume for a moment that everything you typed above is true. Do you think that university leadership should know how to navigate the current climate? In my opinion, the "back in my day" folks would be wise to realize that it is no longer their day.

i'm not an activist, but no matter where this occurred i would be concerned. it just makes sense that its at MSU. when i went to college there i fielded dozens of gay jokes and slurs about being a UM student like: "careful over there or you're going to come back with a boyfriend!" or "youre going to UM?! you a little light in the loafers?" for real. from about 1/4 people in Bozeman that i told about my education decision.

and I cannot imagine the same thing happening at UM. if you spent any time there you would understand, too.

There’s no “back in my day” in this post. But I do agree times have changed. However, What do you suggest they do? Take action against a proven innocent? Should they just agree, bend over and punish someone after already finding no cause? I think that has changed for the worst. Acceptance= good. Punishing everyone for not 100% conforming or a student saying “I feel threatened”, over an assumption = not good. Make fun of it all you want. It’s a slippery slope and you saw it in UM. I would have thought this board would be more understanding over how the media can abuse its power.

I think when a student receives death threats, the university should not dissolve an order that makes her feel more protected without notice so it can settle a lawsuit, and then lie to the student about it. She kept the receipts. I think that's absolute scumbag leadership.

Calling somebody "Lady Griz"? Really? That is what passes for an insult over in Bozeman? You want to talk "low hanging fruit". That's as creative as you can get?

If you ever leave the fold out in your Mom's trailer, because she can't afford a house with a basement in Bozeman anymore, you might realise a few things. Everett is owning you on this thread because you are doing exactly what he said you are, deflecting, the thread is not about Bobby Hauck running onto the field. What could that possibly have to do with investigations at MSU?

Secondly, by using references to women as an attempted insult, it makes some women feel like they will be unfairly targeted if they participate on various forums. This is probably why there are so few women on here and most of them have had to put up with offside comments. DO BETTER.

Oh look, his side kick came in to help out. You’re like a Walmart Robin. It’s funny you saw “lady” as an insult, I merely did it since the committee called you all the lady gris. But I’m glad your bias towards women really showed strong. Interesting, check your privilege. I would cheer for him too if I was a gris fan. Your groupthink runs deep. It’s okay. I’d be super butt hurt if my university was second fiddle in football after being so dominant in the 1900’s!! Sorry BH 2.0 didn’t pan out. But at least the venue is like lipstick on a pig.
No you didn't. As for the rest of this gibberish; what is a Walmart Robin?. Why are you glad my bias towards women is showing? Why is that interesting? What does check your privilege mean? Why do you spell Griz wrong, is that more of your "humour" or just a troll thing? What groupthink? And what do your last 3 sentences have to do with a DOE investigation of Montana State. In short, what in God's name are you blathering about???

UM did go through this, and much, much more in2011-12. The impetus then was Obama and his sh*theaded leftwing administration. This is just the 11th year of Obama. Biden is just a demented tool. Same wokies running everything into the ground. I'm glad you lefties have removed your masks, showing your true selves. MSU is in for some nasty times.

Krakauer.
Actually, I could see him writing the second book in his series. "Bozeman: Home of the Bigoted MSU Cowboy."

Before the last thread got locked, Everett wondered what the BN reaction to the DOE 'investigation' was, so I looked, and looked...and looked. Nothing. Like it never happened, just like the DUIs thingy. Them guys got their sh*t wired tight over there. No wonder CatsRback comes over HERE to express his opinions. Unsanctioned opinions on BN are like a political debate in North Korea.
:?

Seriously? No comments at all about it on bcn??

Nothing, not even a peep.

I have been in public education for more than 20 years now. Universities, like public primary and secondary schools, have a responsibility to those people in their care. Full stop.

You can't plead ignorance, hide behind less than transparent decision making anymore when it comes to issues of student safety any more. UM was way too over confident in their ability to handle their disciplinary issues in-house in the years running up to 2011-12. Both inside and outside the athletic department. MSU didn't do their due diligence here. Didn't appear to happen at Northwestern State either. Colleges continue to run into these issues, because they behave in many cases as if they themselves have the ability to be judge, jury and executioner. A lot of hubris that the problems that happen elsewhere, won't happen there.

When people are hurt, emotionally, physically or otherwise, people do have the right to ask legitimate questions as to the agencies in charge of their care or protection why standard protocols were or weren't followed.

Not to mention, Griz lead the series since 2000 as well. Really clueless scat. Spending too much time sniffing the litter box.

Go Griz!

Your privilege is showing, acting like I made the comment in bad faith. Very interesting. Is this the game you’re trying to play? I merely said it since that’s what you were referred to as on ESPN. Don’t blame me. But here you go assuming it was a diss. Why would it be a diss?

The carpet MSU keeps sweeping things under must be getting full.
