MSU @ SFA Game Thread

Cats will need to shake it off cause UND will be looking for blood coming off a bye week.

Long way to go to the end of the season. I agree, the Cats have some D problems. Anytime an offense puts up 38 points they should win. As a Cat fan, it looked to me like the Griz last season. I thought Bleskin did ok. The problem was on defense and giving up 3rd downs. It killed us. I do think we will be in there at the end of the season. Since, MD's note that he wrote to DM, I have a completely changed opinion of the Griz program. He is a totally class act. I am rooting for you guys except the last game with the Cat's. We have two excellent programs in this State. It is a good thing. I am no longer going to get caught up in all the negative smack. Life is too short. I feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful State with a lot of great people. Go Cat's and Go Griz!

Kirk is not a good RB. He may have a nose for the end zone but that's it. He is not fast, quick, or shifty. Doesn't make anybody miss. I wonder how many of his TDs are under 5 yards. He needs to be a short yardage back and nothing more. And their "amazing" linebackers were missing tackles all night. They looked average at best.

This! Now don't get me wrong, he seems like a great kid, and one that I would love to have on our team. He's physical, tries hard, and does everything right...he just doesn't have that much natural ability. The Cats have neither an OL that can open up holes, or a RB that could take advantage of those holes. There's a reason Brekke isn't redshirting, it's because they don't have a quality RB on that team yet.

As for the linebackers, they are average (except Singleton). The one guy who got injured was very good as well, but his replacement is average...which is about all you can expect from a backup. The other guy, Moore I think, he's dependable, but he's not going to make a big play for you. Singleton is a hell of a player though, I like him a lot.

Not a Cat fan but I'd love to have Kirk on my team. He runs with purpose like Chase did. It's not on him that his O line is sub par. Simple as that.

Meh. Why, so he could be buried 4th on our depth chart (and probably 5th after the way Nguyen ran today)? Kirk is a serviceable back, but he wouldn't play for the Griz.

Perhaps we now are getting a clearer picture of the reason why Brekke changed his verbal....He's another guy who would be buried on the depth chart here, but he may be their starter by mid-year...

Candid moment that I think parallels a lot of Griz fans. I usually want the Cats to win all of their games to the point of playing us for two reasons--we are all Montana people and it is great to beat them when they are doing well when they think they will get us. This year, though, they are especially over the top on being on the verge of a national championship. The years of getting their ass kicked by us has modified their approach to reality. They were especially bad in terms of the reaction to Jordy's unnecessary problems. So, in all honesty, I am happy they lost. Their focus on FTG for everything has gotten old.

I agree with your post. I talk smack but having lived outside Montana I see both Universities are representing US(Montana) on the national stage. I wont actively root against MSU in Playoffs but in regular season against UM I do.

I am surprised the Cats could not find a running game. SFA wanted no part of physical football. Their ball carriers ran away from contact. Defensively, the looked more of a finesse team as well. SFA defense was very passive. All a team had to do was get physical with them, and they would have rolled over. Looks the Cats are not a very physical team so far. They better change that. I guarantee NAU and the GRIZ will very physical with the Cats.

Just one example of the hundreds of posts on here making fun of our loss to SFA, rubbing it in. PR and others keep calling me a troll, jerk, loser, etc... but most of my posts that have any smacking in them are in response to the goofy posts that you guys put on here. Feel free to see if you can find one post from me during or after that NAU game where I was laughing at the griz, making fun of how they played, or kicking them when they're down. Hint - you won't find any. In fact, I haven't sifted through all the garbage on here but I'd be surprised if you find many, if any, CAT posters rubbing it in. Look back through this thread and I bet you can find at least 20 egriz posters making fun of the CATS. I have NO problem with hating the rival, that's what makes it awesome. But don't act like me, or any other CAT fans are any worse than most of you...
