Msu OC charged with DUI

Does anyone know how the Bozeman DC's third DUI arrest worked out in the end, or is still a big mystery?

Nope absolute crickets in Bozeman by msu, the sports reporters, and the program. None of the reporters have the balls or professionalism to find out what happened there.

Garza pleaded not guilty. Has not gone to trial yet. The school policy is not to comment on personnel matters. They reiterated this in House’s case and said they will wait until due process takes place. I don’t think the lawyers for the two coaches are going to comment either. This is MSU’s policy that applies to all personnel. UM probably has a similar policy. I would expect if both are found guilty, they will be fired. What I don’t understand is why they are not suspended in the interim. And, who is it that has the authority to suspend or fire the employee and when, in these situations.

I realize the source is probably a tow truck driver but can nobody in Gelatin Valley spell?
“there business”
“envolved”
And way to keep it “confidential”

Thanks for the info, BS33. Do you have a link to the docket or a source for the trial date for the DC?

I agree that they should both be suspended until the legal process plays out, but MSU can’t really do that with the OC now that they were cool with just 3.5 hours for the DC.

This all seems crazy. It looks to me like the Bozeman Police Department is out of control here, something needs to be done about it. (PR style posting…)

Well, the dude apparently didn't tip the tow truck driver with the proper sized envelope to keep his mouth shut. A complete rookie mistake, that and/or the tow truck has Griz stickers all over it. Either way, not the best optics for the neighbors.

I do not have a link for the trial date. My source is from people that I know who are familiar with the court system that told me he hasn’t been to trial yet. I know that most DUI cases can go many months before going to trial in Bozeman. I know of one case that took 3 yrs after appeals before it was finalized.

Wow, I thought Garza should have been fired or at least suspended until a court decision is reached. Now, I feel Housewright should be fired or indefinitely suspended. House’s situation is even worse with leaving the scene. His actions are beyond stupid. There is no excuse. I wonder what happens with a professor, janitor or staff member when they get a DUI? Do they get fired or suspended? I would think they have to treat everyone equally. Would like to see Vigen publicly address this.

Save your backtracking for Bobcatnation. Now isn't the time for posters like yourself to be embarrassing our program even more.

They must be waiting for better timing? Would you rather they get fired in the middle of the season?

What does it take for an assistant to be fired outright at MSC (besides methed-out dead bodies in corn fields)? Are four DUIs ok so long as not in state-issued car? Or are the aggravating circumstances ok because it’s only his first dewey?

How can you fire the second guy if you don’t fire the first guy? And what happens when a player gets a dui or worse? Seems like MSC’s policy of burying its head in the sand could come back to bite them.

With both coordinators being drunks, there is clearly a cultural problem of boozing on this staff, right? You guys are always crowing about a “culture” which seems consistent with the excessive drinking on gameday and at the stadias over there. Why, is there nothing else to do in bozo?

Who is the “friend” and why wasn’t he charged? Holy crap, imagine if the friend is on staff too. Wowzers.

If coach VI doesn’t publicly address this immediately, he should be fired, no?

So a strategy emerges; keep these in continuances until Sixx decides to leave.

Condolences on your optimistic trainwreck, btw. Do you need a hug? Been a rough month in Bozoville and about to get worse.

Wow. Just…wooowwwww.

At this point you’d have to think the BOR is having a conversation with Waded something along the lines of, “Look, all 3 coaches gotta go, and if they don’t then you and the AD are gone”.

What moron would put this tweet out? Seriously? Though not as serious as drunken coordinators driving in the Gelatin, Whittless really needs to rethink his life choices if this is what he believes passes for actual journalism.

Cat fight on Egriz…..I’m here for it

Edit: dang it, this Vim looks like a fake Vim who has only made 6 posts here. Someone trying to impersonate the real VimVim (good poster, awful user name).

i heard that Budweisers last promotion kind of bombed and now they are going to put pictures of drunk coaches booking photos on their cans...
probably be a good logo for a shirt no?

The anonymous tips at the University of Montana generally include proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. It’s only one of the many advantages of a UM education. :thumb:

I didn't realize how many saints we have here on eGriz. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not condoning their actions, but the villagers with their pitchforks are sure out in force here! Frankly I'm a bit surprised that none of you have suggested a public flogging for both of them while having to forfeit their rights to ever work and earn a living again. I wonder how many of you would be typing the same stuff if it were a Griz coach?

I know I sure as hell would. Hell, I'd be typing the same thing if it were my father.

Montanans need to get over the whole "drunk driving is okay" thing. It's not, and the repercussions are horribly real, as DBM so sadly pointed out on the first page of this thread.

A major part of being a college football coach is the expectation to be a leader and mentor of young men. House utterly failed in that responsibility, and it should cost him his job. Sixx has clearly failed to set the proper expectations for his staff, and that should likely cost him his job as well. Actions have consequences. Dial up a fu-king Uber.

I don't disagree with what you're saying, but I have a sneaking suspicion that there are several on here that are blowing it up just because it's the Cat coaches.

Just a tad hyperbolic, don’t you think? In reality, if the Griz even hired a guy with two prior DUIs and NCAA violations galore, I would be pissed. If that guy racked up his third and we only suspended him for 3.5 hours, I would be pissed. If our OC then, less than six months later, (allegedly) crashed a school vehicle, fled after a vehicle swap, and then got popped for a DUI in the second car, thus allegedly drunk driving two vehicles in one evening, I would be pissed. So, yeah, pretty much the same posts.

Frankly, MSU’s reaction, or lack thereof, to both situations and other situations in the past several years shows exactly what kind of program they run over there.

Ding ding ding!

This coach crashed a university vehicle while driving drunk. He could have killed somebody. He then tried to cover it all up by having a buddy come and help him out and get the crash vehicle off the street. He jumped into another vehicle (I’m guessing the one he switched with his buddy) and continued to drive drunk after doing this. How flipping idiotic does one have to be here. If a Griz coach did anything close to this I’d be the first to say get rid of his ass.
