MSU Names New Starting QB

MSU doesn't have the best history of keeping their QBs healthy. They need good QB depth.

When you run an offense where the QB runs a lot, yes you have injuries. You guys saw that with JJ a few times. Yes, it is good to have good backups that can also run that type of offense effectively.

Hold the phone! The Cats run an offense? Hard to tell but I will take your word for it.

Ron Ash has been quoted as saying that Fauxkupp is "better than Uncle Rico."

I heard Ron Ash once smothered a 3 star recruit to death with a pillow just for snoring. There is more than just a great head of hair to that man.

I don't hang around here as much as I used to, so I guess I missed it - but what is the reason behind the Ron Ash bit? I must be missing an inside joke or something?

Actually I think we've been pretty fortunate in that regard. Yes, DM's injury in the season opener was unfortunate and eventually doomed our season, but he remained pretty healthy\durable for four years, and before that Lulay was very durable for four years, pretty amazing for two dual threat QB's. We did have the one bad hear where we got hit with injury bug at QB and had to start the 3rd stringer (Desin) against you guys, but overall I think we've been pretty fortunate.

We'll see how Prukop holds up... I hope he's as durable as DM, Lulay, and yes even JJ. (For being pretty small, man that poor kid has taken some hits.)

JJ is not exactly small at 195 and pretty muscular. He got very strong and bigger during his offseason. He's taken a good deal of hits, and some of have impacted him, but I rarely have noticed him really getting tagged. Some of the ones that he gets up slow from, have been normal indirect tackles/sacks. These nagging injuries have impacted him each of his last 2 seasons. He must be a pretty tough kid, and he certainly has to be mentally tough.

God every year I wish we had the same amount of all conference players backing up our 1st string as the CANTS repeatedly have...when are we going to beat these guys???

The reality is the cats have open practice so their fans can watch. In their opinions anyone that run, jump, tackle, block, and catch is totally awesome. Griz fans go on limited scrimmages and egriz. The fact of the matter is we have the players to go a long ways and I don't give a flyin @@@@ what the cats have. Their fans will always think the cats can run higher and jump faster than anyone in the country.

The actual reality is that when Cat fans say anything positive about their own players, Griz fans exaggerate to make a point and then run away with the joke. All of the sudden Cat fans think every person on the bench is an All-American. Not a single Cat fan has said anything remotely close to that.

You had better not say that to Coach Ron Ash's face.

True to some extent, but some of the Cat exaggeration and overconfidence last year about how the tide and momentum had shifted to the Cats, and the Cats were going to do this and that to the Griz, and the Cats were so strong at all these positions, was more than a bit much. That's why I jumped on it last year at the beginning of the season, when I observed that the Cats were decent but really not great. And then when your qb got hurt, I knew/guessed that the Cat offense would struggle. And then we had to listen to how great Bleskin was, and it seemed implausible to me that a back-up could step in and be great immediately, and he clearly wasn't. So, it obviously goes both ways.

What are your predictions for each team this year and how with Cat/grizz go down?
