MSU Names New Starting QB

This goes to PR. I could already script the total nonsense responses most of you will spew.

I'm optimistic and predicting a Cat victory, but not by talking down the grizz. I could, but I don't believe I need to. On defense, I think we will have breakout years from Sheridan at NG, Marino at Coe at DE, and Keeton at CB. In fact Flowers and Keeton should be the best CB combo in the league, and Singleton, Na'a, and Moore should be the best LB core in the league. Barnett at S is a 6th year senior and if he can stay healthy, should be exceptional. That's 9 positions I really like, and the other two guys I didn't mention (Dees and Marshal) are 5th year seniors that both started (at least) all of last season. Overall this should be the best defense I believe we've had in a really long time.

On offense, I'm most excited about our O Coordinator Cramsey and I do believe Ash has handed him the keys to the car (unlike last year). That needs to be true for our offense to excel. I really like our first 5 guys on the OL, and their ability to stay healthy and stay healthy deep into the season will be key, otherwise we have a whole bunch of freshman and/or walkons. Our only other scholarship backup O lineman broke his effing toe walking down stairs in his house, although he should be back to full strength by the conference season. We are in good shape at TE. We will need to wait and see at QB and R as those can only be considered question marks at this point.

On ST, we may be in trouble at PK and P, but our cover teams and return teams should be really good. Johnson should repeat as All American at returner. Mixed bag.

Overall, I believe this Bobcat team is very good, and quite possibly great. I'm looking forward to another victory in Missoula this year.

All of those players are good, but I don't think they quite as good as you think they are. I think MSU will have some serious QB issues. Other than that, I don't see a whole lot of analysis in your post, only conclusions regarding the standard, "X will have a breakout year" and "Y and Z will be the best in the biz" and "if we stay healthy, then . . ." stuff. Sorry.

My analysis of the Griz could be the same. If some new players have breakout years, and the veterans continue to improve throughout the year, and if we stay healthy, and if the play calling is good, and we execute, and if we don't turn the ball over or make silly mistakes, and if the kicking game is solid, then we could be very good and possibly great.

I'm in for 100.00 against you abq. I will deposit the money tomorrow with a local optometrist who is a die hard cat fan and my neighbor. All you have to do is say sure I'm in and I'll get you his contact info. What you say?

Apparently we both have declined.

Lost cause dude. Most of these guys have no idea what is going on with Bobcat football. If they really think we're going to have "serious issues" as QB, they obviously haven't been paying attention to camp reports. I'm out, will be back here after a few games to compare QB, and defensive stats.

Thx. Nice post. I appreciate it. I learned alot about the Cats from it. We will all see. I talked to Singleton for about 10 minutes at an event this summer. He was a bit full of it, but I liked and enjoyed him, and had no problem with him. He thought the Cats would be good. I will be cheering for him this fall.

Ohhhh noooo, don't go, poor. Are you OK? I didn't mean to offend you by not paying attention your "camp reports." You should come back after a few games to compare stats against uncommon opponents. It wouldn't be a season without that total Cat move ("TCM").

Yew. I do NOT want any kind of a camp report from PG. I can just envision it going something along the lines of, "This one time?? At band camp?? I stuck a flute up my a..."

UGGGH!!!! NO!!! Make it stop!!!

  thank you! Made my night.

With the recent sighting of bareaxed, I'd like to make a request:
Does the interwebs happen to have a video of "two cats and a Prukop"

tumblr_mkn5kadcNP1qg39ewo1_500.gif

Until Prukop took over I seen the cats winning a max of 3 games. Bleskin wasn't everything he was made out to be. They got beat down by a 3-9 SF Austin squad and put up a whopping 26 points against a DII team who got smoked by a team that Carroll beat the piss out of.
Fast forward to now: Prukop went 13/13 and 171 yards and 1 TD (??). I'm gonna go with the cats ending the season at 6-6. MaybE 7-5. Maybe.

The Griz are a lot better off right now, than the cats, but tougher schedule. I don't need to run down the Griz facts on a Griz board. I think the Griz will end the regular season 9-3 maybe 10-2. Playoffs are to hard to predict... Semi final round ???

He went 13/13 against THAT defense? That all-world, tops in the Big Sky defense? Against the best set of corners in the league?

Alex Singleton snickered a bit during his short interview after the game. Guessing their 2s were in during that time. Not 100% on that tho. Maybe he is just a happy guy all the time

I didn't realize that was against the cats 2nd team defense. That is impressive.

Hahaha! I was waiting for a Cat fan to tell us that the 2s are better than the 1s. Thanks for ruining it!

The drop off from our 1's to 2's is profound at most position groups. The injury bug hitting this team spells certain disaster (again). Carry on.

Well you may not have "serious issues" at QB...but we kicked the hell out of you when you had the best QB your schools ever seen....not to mentions best class your programs ever had....so sorry for not being worried about you guys again this year....I predict the Cats will lose 3 out of their last 4 games...as only the Cats can do...and miss the playoffs. Sound familiar.

I recently reread Coach ron ash's 1994 book, "Playing .500 Ball". He commits an entire chapter to it, Chapter 23 Playing Opossum. I forgot how good the graphics were in that book. You don't see that in today's pop-up books.

I still think that Ronnie Ash's off season training and conditioning program has a lot to do with all the fall injuries. I mean didn't those leotards and leg warmers go out of style in the '80's?
