MSU Move to FBS

Using simple “financial engineering” and referencing the proposed 2027 athletic fees at both MUS Institutions, I was able to determine that the difference between 16,000 at $93 and 11,000 at $92, is a $476k difference……well shy of millions more. Maybe you’re thinking of a different msu, with a much larger student athletic fee.

The only thing shrinking in Bozeman is the number of kids visiting their campus and deciding to go play for the Griz instead.

It is a nicer town, with more programs designed for today’s economy and they have significant enrollment growth.

Pretty clear that they are on an upward trajectory that Montana isn’t matching.

UM clearly has fallen behind.
Missoula is much better than Bozeman. I went to high school and junior high in Bozeman and my family is still there. Not even a close call.

Bozeman is the 3rd biggest shit hole I've been too in Montana, next to Billings and Great Falls.

Within the next 5-8 years, I see Bozeman shrinking to around 22k population and Fargo resembling Hamsterdam (more so than it presently does). All the markers are present for both things to happen. The football programs in each town will be afterthoughts.
Would it upset you if MSU moved to the FBS and UM stayed in the FCS?

Lmfao …okay

I’ve never seen a homeless person taking a shit on a sidewalk in broad daylight, in Bozeman, but I have in Missoula….

Since Covid, Missoula has gone to shit. Local economy sucks. Bozeman is ridiculously expensive but at least has some industry….Missoula has just became a drug infested shithole IMO…Mecca for homelessness

Sad

Not true or accurate. On Bozeman people live in their vehicles, right in town. Missoula has better support services.

But what I am saying is Missoula is a much better town. Homeless people is only one of many factors. Missoula has a better downtown. Better parks and quicker access to the outdoors. Bozeman has some nice restaurants but Missoula has better bars. Missoula has a real river running through it. Missoula has much more and better music. Missoula has less out of state fancy people per capital. My impression reason is Missoula has better healthcare. Missoula schools are strong. Missoula has better weather. Bozeman has better skiing. Missoula is close to a great lake.

Great question. I don’t think so. It would be very interesting to see how an FBS team could operate in what Bozeman is set to become in the next 5-8 years. I picture scenes from the movie Idiocracy. I’m not sure why you’d doubt me on this. I predicted the Bizon QB busts with 100% accuracy.

No you didn’t . Carson Wentz was a pro bowler and MVP front runner. He got hurt.

A good comp would be Bert Jones who won an MVP at 25, got hurt and was out do the league at 31.

Shit happens but he was not a bust.

How about jobs?

The homeless situation in Missoula is exponentially worse than Bozeman . Sure you have people living in their cars in Bozeman, but it isn’t the same situation as Missoula where it is flat out scary.

Those wonderful parks you refer to are filled with homeless people. Go take a walk at night and tell me if you feel safe.
