MSU Move to FBS

The problem with wrestling is that there are fewer than 80 DI programs in the country who offer it, and only 3 in the Mountain West.
Mountain West does not host D1 Wrestling.

NDSU will join PAC 12 as affiliate member joining AF, Cal Poly, Cal St Bakersfield, Little Rock, Northern Illinois, Northern Colorado, and South Dakota State.

Big 12 inludes: Wyoming, Utah Valley, Cal Baptist, ok st, ok, Iowa st, AZ st, mizzou, west Virginia, Northern Iowa

Lots of affiliate memberships and lots of changes over past several years...

Griz wrestling would likely go to PAC 12 if added...if they added Women's wrestling - it would be even crazier.

I do believe most of the facilities are on par with MWC maybe outside the bubble, but at least we have a indoor practice facility now. The team meeting rooms are very basic. As far as attendance we would be near the top, plus TV viewership we would be near the top. I do believe we could sell the brawl better then big sky lets us, kinda putrid that we share the revenue with all the teams in the big sky. I think we get around 10 or 15k revenue for media for that game. I'm my opinion we should get the lions share. Mwc new media deal has a streaming deal that you can follow your school and that money you pay goes to that school. Not a 100% on how it works. Big Mountain pod cast went through it and how it works. But they said you can purchase to view all your schools games for a certain price outside the national televised games. This includes bb, and Olympic sports.
Hopefully the new President and AD tells the BSC to pound sand on the Brawl of the Wild media money. To add, the MWC commissioner just came out and said for 2027-2028 season there would be a minimum investment that schools need to spend and media distributions wont be equal, if you win more you get more. The BSC is handicapped as only two schools bring in most of the money.

How many of those "losing" teams want to return to the joy of FCS? You consistently avoid that question, because the answer is zero. Only Idaho, who had no other choice, relegated itself back to FCS, where they always belonged.
Don’t know and don’t care. How many wish they were still at FCS and competing for championships??

So essentially NDSU did what Montana did in the 2000s x10. By that, I mean relied on the program's success to build its brand recognition and not needing to rely on marketing. But NDSU has been doing a great job the last few years of marketing, which Montana has always struggled with for some odd reason.
What marketing was NDSU doing? It’s attendance was going down, I believe.

Lol. Not even close to truth. UM's attendance would be in the top 1/2 of the MWC on day one. So would MSU's. That issue has been beaten to death.

And if "playoff football" drove attendance, we wouldn't see 18,000 people at the first playoff game after selling out all season.
Again, I think the playoffs help sell season tickets and help with regular season attendance.
