If you look closely, it looks like shit. That’s no coincidence.

Remember a few years ago when they had that huge disaster where the shit pond over-flowed and raw sewage was flowing down the river? Well, this poor chap just got caught in the shit storm. He heard a roar coming, peaked over his shoulder, started to pray, and the last thing he saw was the turd-tsunami.

He now stands as a stark reminder to all engineers of the perils of miscalculating and to always flush twice

Bozeman isn’t commissioning a statue of a .620 coach who only spent seven seasons with the program, I know that much. It’s gotta be Ash, right? Gotta go with the winningest coach in program history for the statue.

We make fun of them, but they wouldn’t bronze Earle. Pretty sure he had a dismal record. It can’t be Kramer because I think he went 0-fer once or twice. Jokester SACCAT said Holland earlier, but that can’t be it because he barely coached there, and did so with mediocrity at the DII level. Ash is my best guess. Backup guess is Choach (but they should fire the sculptor if so). Safety guess is an just anonymous “coach”.

I googled MSU head football coaches, and Choach is right up there, ahead of Swwney, and just behind Holland. But .608 - .633
ain't the stuff legends, or statues are made of. Gotta go back a hundred years for a better record, but a three game career doesn't quite rise to the level either.
I see they kept the gate to Gatton Field, from back in the day. Cyrus Gatton played back before WWI, and was killed in the war. He did, however, transfer to Wisconsin for his senior year. Guess he didn't have to sit out a year back in the day. I'd go with Cyrus Gatton.
Now, all we need is someone to go read the plaque to settle this.

Tourist, I did the same, and, oh, I have a dark horse pick: Coach Tony Storti led the Bobcats to a 31-12-1 (.705) record. In 1956, he allegedly led the Bobcats to a tie in the NAIA national championship which they later claimed as their first National Championship! Not only was Coach Storti the winningest non-player coach in program history, he was the athletic director, and began the GV tradition of counting ties as wins. It has to be him. That’s statue-worthy if you ask me. It’s about #culture

The fuck? I cannot believe I’ve missed the fact that they made a statue of an NAIA coach and I’ve missed it for five years. This tops everything they’ve done! This is the most Bobcat thing ever.

I mean, the joke is on me, really. People posted about them making a statue for a losing Choach for years (I guess he later upped it to around .500), and I just thought it was a funny joke. Like, no chance a school would be that stupid. All the while, they already had a fucking statue of a mediocre coach. Totally flew over my head.
