Mountain West?

Traffic talk, woo! I live in Southern California and end up driving all over it for youth sports. Most backups make sense. Construction, wreck, ball game, etc. The traffic engineers seem to know what they’re doing for the most part. I’ll tell you this: the most pointless traffic I’ve ever experienced is hwy 95 northbound in CDA. No reason for it. It’s like the light schedules haven’t been revisited since the 80s. Three cars through on the arterial to let one on from a side street, and then sit there at a red light for 90 seconds with a clear intersection, repeat. And every speed limit on the thoroughfares in that area is 15mph too slow.
100%. Getting to my buddy’s place in Hayden lake is a head scratcher every time. And I thought north reserve was bad …

They drive so damn slow in Idaho it’s like you’re going back in time! I really didn’t like living North of CDA, 95N sucked ass, and going South was just as bad. Flipping 65mph on a damn highway is absolutely crazy! Just thinking about it gives me road rage! 😡

And don’t get me started on the damn timezone. In the 2 Summers I had the displeasure of living there, sunrise, I should say first light, was around 0345 and the damn birds started going nuts at 0330! I couldn’t believe it, drove my wife and I nuts! I’ve never been so happy to see a place in my rearview mirror!

I have 3 speeding tickets all occurring between Island Park and Pocatello 100% agree. I hate that drive. Once south of Pocatello I hammer down and cruise all the way to Vegas going just shy of 90 like the rest of traffic.

I don’t really go outside of the city limits when I visit, but I’ll take your word. I was talking about 95 in town with the light schedules. It’s bizarre to me that where I live probably has 5-10x the amount of cars on the surface streets and can move them faster from A to B than Hwy 95 in CDA.

cdee-a means he's not allowed to go outside the city limits, so he has to take your word for it. he likes to hang out at elmer's, on 95, near the quality inn. this is where he acquires his data regarding car movement. his statistics are inflated, and nobody knows because nobody knows where he lives, or the surface streets on which the cars he discusses move.

it is all a great mystery.

Scary accurate.

I’ve been told that the UM and MSU can’t afford to move up due to lack of funding from the BOR. Has that changed recently?

I honestly don’t either
From the House lawsuit/settlement Mountain West schools are permitted to increase football scholarships from 85 to 105. I think Boise State has over 100 players. Montana can’t afford to hire the new soccer coach they want due to not having money no way they jump into 85 football scholarships

Montana should increase their scholarships to 105 if they want to be competitive in the Mountain West.

Cool, thx. I still wonder why the PAC would care if the MWC added FCS programs at this point. It was originally over the penalties MWC was going to levy on schools leaving for the PAC, right? Maybe I misread that and I’m missing an angle. I guess if I have a potential judgment against someone, I’m all for them improving their finances in ways unrelated to the lawsuit.
The pac doesn’t care if the mt west adds FCS schools it a corporate NCAA application process. If you’re invited by the conference you pay a 5 million fee and need to wait 2 years to become eligible. During those 2 years you can’t play any bowl games or make ncaa tournaments for basketball.

Are you sure about that for the bball program? Everything I searched said the otherwise, that the bball team can play in the tournament provided its status isn’t changing. Maybe I looked at the wrong stuff?
