calhoun. his cb play was awesome, especially for his first college game at the position.

my feeling is that he is the best-suited running back for that type of defense, and he was missed.

Different Calhoun. The running back is out for two games because he broke some guy’s jaw. Calhoun who was transferred to corner was his brother, a receiver.

Justin is right where he belongs now. He's gonna kick some ass this year.

Even when Jeremys suspension is over don't be surprised if he has to work his way back up the ranks but yes, there were some situations last night we really missed him.

While Calhoun made some mistakes last night, especially in the second half, I was very impressed with his play. Even on some mistakes, he recovered very fast. He is quick and fast, and has good instincts for the play. He is a good hitter.

If he got to do the play on the NI sideline going north again, where he jumped an out route, I think he would intercept that ball and take it to the house 4 out of 5 times. I almost felt that he was surprised a bit to be in such good position to make the pick and didn't surge toward it as a receiver would. Of course, a receiver has the advantage of looking for ball, whereas a corner working on covering and getting in position to cover or deflect the ball. This makes a big difference.

Agreed 100%. At least 3 out of 5 times he picks that and takes it home.

yes, on a third and goal carry!

Most missed player is Akem. I think he is a better receiver than Curran, and should see more snaps. He is more physical, and has better hands than Curran. Curran only had one drop Saturday, which is a bit low for him. I realize he is a team leader in the locker room, but just for ability, I think Akem is a better WR.

Most missed was: 1) Rodriguez, needed a better pass rush and did he even play? 2) Jeremy Calhoun...Eastwood has a bright future though!

Akem needs to start winning the physical battles. Once he does, he will explode but he isn't quite there. Sneed's throw to the end zone when UNI jumped offsides is a good example. Akem had that, would've been huge.

Calhoun at CB has me excited.

Unpopular opinion coming, but if Sneed doesn't start stepping up in the pocket Jensen will be the most missed player. Don't get me wrong, I am excited about Sneed and how he played, but if he continues to take off a second too early that becomes easier for defenses to scheme against.

Yes, he played. Saw him come into the game in the 4th quarter. Didn't notice him before that but he might have played earlier.

What? to me, he is the most physical receiver on the team. Are you talking about getting off the line in press coverage, or winning in a jump-ball situation?

The coaches, the depth chart, and the eye test don't agree with you. He isn't winning the battles with DBs to get open and in jump ball situations. If he was, he would be in every goalline situation because his height is such an advantage. He will get there, has star potential to be sure. Will be a huge weapon for the team as Pease continues to work with him.

With Buss seeing limited action, it was great to see Olson step up big time. Who knows, he may be the next Buss... Great to see him rewarded.
