More or Less Confident?

Are you more or less confident of a GRIZ win Saturday than you were prior to the Brawl?

Cat fans may not admit this, but they didn't look very sharp against SFA. Had SFA been able to catch a pass, they may have found themselves in a dog fight. I was talking about this with some friends over the weekend, but somebody on our defense needs to try and get under Julius Davis' skin. With how undisciplined he's been the last two weeks, it could be pretty easy to draw him into a personal foul or two. Now are they gonna false start 5 times again? Definitely not, but it might be worth it once or twice to see if we can get them to move early a time or two.

And according to Vigen today, it sounds like Paul Brott is gonna try and give it a go, albeit not at 100%. Double teaming him and making him uncomfortable could be advantageous in the run game.
I’m sure they’ll have him loaded up and ready to go. Is cortisone still the preferred pain medication these days or am I dating myself?

I've been seeing a number of Cat fans (just a handful) say that SFA had an Elite defense that Montana State put 44 point up on, and point to that as they're going to be just fine on Saturday, and the classic "Yale was better than USD. Even saw some say Yale + SFA > SDSU +USD.

I get trying to be confident in your chances, but talk about being blissfully ignorant to the fact that the Ivy league and the UAC are not nearly as good as the MVFC is.
SFA was literally without their top 2 defenders in that game, including their stud CB who was out with an illness. Maybe they would've been better with him out there but that was not a good defense. They gave up 34 points at home the week before to Abilene Christian.

This notion that Bobby was “saving something” and “playing vanilla” in the first brawl has GOT to be hogwash. So you’re telling me that he’d rather LOSE the brawl AND HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE THROUGHOUT THE PLAYOFFS than show them “too much” because we might see them later on in the playoffs???
Yeah that's just pure cope nonsense.

I just read a post by a cat fan saying Griz played too hard during their two playoff games and are worn out, banged up and injured. Cats played off played just hard enough to get the victory. His conclusion... a blood bath in Bozeman because cats are well rested.
You can not make this shit up!!!

There is no way -- NOEFFINWAY!!!! -- any reasonable bub fan believes that, even if they're spouting it to make themselves feel better.

Sorry, I live out of state. Don't feel the hatred here for the Cats, only the Rams.

Good high school friends became Cats but I never begrudge them their mistakes.

Last time I visited Bozeman many years ago, I felt great sympathy for them--their stadium looked like a cow pasture. They've turned things around. Good for them. Good for the Big Sky; a rising tide lifts all boats.

Hate just eats you up.

But when I think of this Saturday's game, I think of this quote from our all-time basketball great Micheal Ray Ricahrdson, describing the fate of the Cats this Saturday: "The ship be sinkin."

How bad will it get for them, Sugar?

"The Sky's the limit."

One key factor that has become apparent to nearly every sports fan in the country over the last two weeks is the Bobs have a very mentally weak contributor who fought a coach and got a hilarious taunting penalty that wiped a TD off the board on national TV in consecutive weeks. Get in that dude's head; the door will be wiiiiiide open.

Still listed at the top of the depth chart too. Could have simply been taken care of by a little discipline instead of “mutual respect” at any point. Big risk to have a loose cannon that could cost you a game like this with an unsportsmanlike. Yale did something that I think needs to be and will be replicated this weekend.

He’s a perfect example of a kid who was a gifted flag, pop warner, middle school and high school football player, who because of his athletic prowess was never held accountable for his actions. That’s a failure by coaches and parents. My kids learned this saying at a very young age:

Although I may think otherwise, the world does not revolve around me.

It makes as much sense as thinking Bobby played the first game vanilla just hoping for a rematch.

How do you know he didn't get disciplined? You know like the famous "had to run the M at 5:00am" I've heard here for 20 years? :ROFLMAO:

How do we know?? Because suffice it to say if assistant coaches get raises after jumping into state owned vehicles and putting the lives of hundreds of innocent people at risk while driving full blotto and then lying and destroying evidence when confronted with their crime, it's fair to assume Davis probably didn't have to go to bed without supper.

But how do you KNOW? ;)

Of course, anything can happen when the game is played, but my confidence level is much higher. Based on the last two games, the Grizzlies are winning by outplaying their opponents. The Bobcats seem to be winning because their opponents are beating themselves.
This is actually really funny to me, because a lot of Bobcat fans said the same thing when the Griz made their 2023 run. It was dumb then, and it's dumb now.

You said it yourself. You’ve heard of the M run.
Meanwhile, Sixx put the Rod Farva of CFB right back “on the road” later in the same game. As EG noted, we’ve all seen how misconduct is rewarded in the Bobprogram. It really makes you wonder if the RB coach was the OC’s first call on Switcheroo Night. 🤔

We prefer to keep our stuff in house. I know Bobcat player discipline is the number one priority of griz fans, and will be a hot topic for a while; but I can ensure you they're on it. These guys are getting punished like you would never believe!

Whew! That’s a relief. Now going to sleep…mode.

That makes zero sense. Hell, it makes LESS than zero sense. I am 110% confident Bobby did everything in his power to get his team to win that Brawl…if there were things “left on the table” its because there weren’t situations where those things could be utilized.

Loud being back is the difference maker. His presence makes that defense hum. Defenses targeting Gillman allow the offense to hum through Wortham, Deck, Davis, Shafer, Gale, Ah Yat, Hendrix, et.al. And Gillman will STILL get his.

We win this 31-27.
I agree. The big difference on defense will be Loud. You can put him on an island out there and it allows us to rush the passer more or load the box. The secondary also seems to play better with him out there. Contain Lamson and the game will be ours. Go Griz!!!
