as reported earlier, joslyn tinkle played this summer in the san francisco pro-am league, a league filled with pro players, former and current college players, and top high school recruits, especially from cal and stanford. typical of summer leagues, there was not a huge emphasis on defense, so i was curious to know her stats, and here they are: fourth leading scorer in the entire league at 23.6 ppg.

she's gonna be a star at any level, no question.

The only thing more impressive than her basketball skills is the type of person she is. Joslyn is a class act, as is the rest of her family.

thought you might be interested in what was said in this morning's rag about joslyn tinkle, in a writeup of the prospects for the cardinal this year:

"freshman forward joslyn tinkle is also expected to get plenty of time. ("she is going to be awesome," vanderveer said), but she is questionable for friday when stanford opens the season at old dominion. tinkle has a bruised foot and sat out the last exhibition game."

Tinkle subbed in for Appel (POY?) late in the first-half against OD on Friday night and proceeded to bury a 3 in her first official collegiate shot.

the way i see it, joslyn is griz family, still. her mom remains one of the best players in the history of lady griz basketball, and her dad is head coach of the basketball team. i remain actuely interested in her development as a player, and will continue to post items about her here, for the benefit of other members of the extended griz family.
