More evidence of what an upstanding organization the NCAA is

...the DOJ and the DOE have other fish to fry and will likely find legitimate issues when all is said and done.

That's a pretty bold assertion, some people do say..."where there's smoke, there's fire." And the same would tell you that that's what they saw on "Law and Order" one night. Or was it one of those Agatha Christie's novels I skimmed through on my company's latest Board meetings? Whatever. I mean, just because someone's wrong doesn't necessarily mean that he really is wrong, does it? If there's a conspiracy afoot I'd swear it's been going on for over forty years now.

you didn't dispute whether or not the DOJ and DOE investigations were actually legitimate

I don't expect that the DOE, the DOJ nor the NCAA investigation will contain substantive findings. I'll leave it to you to determine if that's "legitimate" or not, because I'm not certain how to define that term in this context.

I'll say this with a great deal of certainty, however: the NCAA investigation sure is your favorite topic, Punch. Legitmate question: Are you so vested because in your heart, you know that significant punitive action would be the only hope that msu manages any edge over UM?
Is Jerry Punch actually "AKA" Gwen Florio?? Dont know, just asking cause they seem to have alot in common?? :?:

I would have thought it might be the other way around, with Fullerton being the former MSU AD. Thanks again.
And it probably is. I have never heard about Fullerton doing anything to favor the Griz.

From what I've read and heard from Cat fans, Fullerton is one of the most hated people in Bozeman...And since Jon Kasper is a UM alumn, and a former Griz beat writer, he's in on the BSC Pro-Griz conspiarcy too.

There are a number of rational -- even good -- Cat posters.

Suffice it to say, it's safe to assume none of them have posted in this thread....
well now I have :thumb:

OFFS.

Just be a man for ONCE in your life and admit -- since we all know it anyhow -- that you are PRAYING that something bad comes from this BS investigation so that msu can hang with the GRIZ.

And you still haven't answered my question. I'm shocked......

I answered your questions. I told you what I know. Was that what you were looking for? I hope you can read back through my posts and hopefully it will work out for you.

I dispelled your idea that I'm hoping UM gets lambasted by any of these three federal entities so that MSU can catch up. If UM gets lambasted, it will be because some egregious activities took place and victims of sexual assault were not treated fairly or justly. That's not up to me.

MSU doesn't need UM to get slapped around by the three federal agencies to hang with the Griz. As I stated earlier, they are already on the same level or beyond what the Griz have. I know WaGriz is far and beyond nicer than Bobcat Stadium and I understand the running Cat/Griz total. Those facts aren't lost on me. I don't think anyone can sit here today and honestly tell themselves that the Griz have a better three-year running total than the Cats. Have the Griz moved forward, on average, at all more than the Cats? No. Have the Cats continued to win more games each season in the Ash era? Yes. Those are the facts.

I'm sorry you are trying to read motive into my posts. As I stated earlier, I wouldn't wish anything like this on anyone. It is truly an awful experience, and for Griz fans out there who know and admit changes need to take place, I feel particularly bad for them, especially since fans like YOU won't acknowledge reality. You are holding the program back, Everett, and I hope for every good and decent Griz buddy I have out there than you can step back and remove your maroon-tinted glasses for a minute and accept reality. Other fans deserve better; you do not.

Also, I notice that you never commented on your arrogant pick of Montana beating Wisconsin in this year's NCAA tournament. You vehemently argued that you never made such a pick, were confronted with the opposite, and mysteriously disappeared. That actually is not very shocking. Carry on, 'mam.

BR, you may be a conspiracy theorist, but I trust the DOJ to recognize when they do and when they do not have jurisdiction. I don't think that is the issue. This isn't some horse crap justice court or county sheriff jurisdictional stuff. This is the highest law enforcement agency in the country, right here in Missoula.

It pains me so much to see so many Griz fans in denial. I know this sucks. I know that the very suggestion that bad things go on in Missoula is disturbing to many a Griz fan, and it should be. But saying that every investigation and every wrong-doing that happened because of someone with the Griz football program is a conspiracy really misses the point. It is total denial. The hammer is going to fall. You may ridicule me for it all you want, and I won't be back here to gloat when it the hammer falls. I feel sorry for the good fans out there who want the program cleaned up. For the rest of you who refuse to accept reality, please stop giving the good Griz fans a bad name.

I take no joy in this whatsoever. But that doesn't mean that reality isn't knocking on your door. You can yell, kick, and scream at me, but I'm not the one who has the power to truly change the scenery in Missoula.

You're calling me a conspiracy theorist? You're the one who threw every form of criminal violation involving a student athlete you could think of into a pot, and thinks the DOJ is going to investigate each one because they're the "top law enforcement agency in the country." I'm simply pointing out you must be watching way too much Fox News about black helicopters if you think the Feds can come in here and investigate anything they want.

The Feds may find that both UM and the County Attorney's office violated one or more women's civil rights, and they may find either or both have violated one or more federal laws. I don't have a clue. I wouldn't be surprised if UM is cited for civil rights violations, but I would be if the County Attorney's is. But in any event, I can tell you for a fact that neither UM nor the County Attorney's office will be cited for Nate Montana not getting a DUI, or Pabst going to work for the defense, because those issues are completely outside the DOJ's jurisdiction even if there were wrongdoing. I'm merely pointing out you raising those issues are red herrings.

Please stop doing a disservice to your fellow Griz fans out there. The fan base deserves better than having you around to embarrass them.

JP, I don't think we need you -- of all people! -- speaking for Griz fans. We're pretty capable of taking care of ourselves, and I'll take Everett over you every time.

And Everett, did you or did you not predict the Griz would beat Wisconsin in the NCAA tourney? Just one answer, and if you answer it honestly, I will willfully remove myself from Egriz until January 1, 2013.

I said that my head predicted Wisconsin, my heart picked Montana.

And wow. You'll be going away for a whole 10 days??? Really?? Wow. That's a hell of an offer, particularly since everyone on this board (including your own cat fans) ignore whatever you say now, anyhow.

No need to argue with the likes of Teton Cat, 2506, Bear Spray and a SELECT FEW other Cat posters. While I'm sure they are all good people in real life, these are people who believe in the prophecies of Papa G, the man who wrote the NCAA countless times CLAIMING HE witnessed a hand-to-hand NCAA improper benefit violation between one of his "good friends" (a UM booster) and a Griz player. Papa G has ranted for a while about KNOWING ABOUT UM violations for YEARS, and when the NCAA Investigation was announced, a SELECT FEW, ( I say few because there are more really normal and nice Bobcat fans and posters than not) fell to his feet on BN and were like "Oh my god, you were right all along".

So no matter what comes of this investigation, a SELECT FEW posters will believe what they believe and IF the Griz are exhonorated, or only get what amounts to a slap on the wrist, they'll go back to blaming Doug Fullerton for protecting the Griz, like they did before any of this started. It's never ending with some of these guys, and arguing with the mentally insane is futile.

Well HavFan.....your clairvoyant skills of being able to read Cat posters' minds needs an upgrade. I for one will be perfectly satisfied with anything the NCAA hands down....slap-on-the-wrist, total exoneration, post game ban....whatever,and then will leave that dead horse in the rear view mirror!!! As far as I'm concerned Doug Fullerton has never done the Grizzlies any favors and certainily won't now...he's too smart to get on the NCAA's bad side. And finally.....my sources and Papa G's are totally different....I don't know the guy....never PM'ed him....don't know his name....can't describe him, so certainily can't believe any of what you call his "prophecies." Christ....I've only been on this board for a little over a year....you seem to know WAY MORE about the Dude than anyone I've encountered..and that includes the Cat Posters!!!!

Teton, maybe I do know a lot about the infamous Papa G. Or not. My apologies for including you as one of his followers, trust me, of which he does have a few if you read BN closely.

My main point is, no matter who has "sources" they are not really sources, they are telling you guesses just like everybody else is doing because the fact of the matter is, the NCAA does NOT tell anyone what possible sanction might be in advance. SO IT IS IMPOSSIBLE for your "sources" to KNOW anything more than any of the rest of us do.
