If he never plays a down in the NFL, we will focus on the things you posted in support of the “best ever” talk. If he has an all-pro NFL career, we will focus more on that. Either way, he’s the best ever. I just have to wait and see what matters most in making that determination.
I think his college career was pretty exceptional when you consider his accomplishments on offense and defense. I guess the rest we will be able to evaluate in 3-5 years. I think he is going to be a very good NFL player. I guess we all will see.

For sure. I just want to know what we’re talking about with “best ever”. Is it best MT high school product (as I thought you originally wrote), or best ever born in MT (as others may have interpreted that), or best ever raised in MT, or best ever who played in MT? Best MT college player? Best MT NFL player? We need to get together on our best everedness to truly make a determination. Some idiot even suggested Barry Sanders. We’re looking to you for guidance, Rico.

it’s the best player born in Montana who was raised in Montana, went to HS in Montana and attended a Montana college and then becomes the best player ever in the NFL.

Poor kid. Imagine how high he would have been drafted if the bubcats didn’t run him into the ground like a Government mule, and instead developed him into a real linebacker for 6 years straight. He should have went to linebacker-U; we would not have abused him and wasted his talent. I think he should sue MSC for the difference in lost opportunity costs. That dirty Mr. Chode-face had one thing in mind and it was certainly not player development. Poor kid had to beg to be moved to his natural position.

Stupid... The MSU coaches would have been incompetent if they wouldn't have put the ball in his hands. He scored a TD about every seventh time he touched the ball. Are you seriously saying he shouldn't have played any offense? He will most likely play some offense in the NFL.

I will go as far to say he will be the best NFL player to have grown up and played high school in Montana. My vigor in defending my statement is directing tied to the amount of Miller Lites I have before posting. 1-3 he is a stud special teams player, 3-6 he is a starter day 1 , plus six an All Pro. If I am drinking IPA's he is LT. Just kidding..kinda. But I do think he is going to be damn good.

I was wondering which bubcat fan would bite and you did not disappoint.
Was there anything I said which was wrong?

Oh I see. Crap, the jokes on me. That's a whole nother level of wit and cleverness. And yes, you're spot on about Troy Andersen's crappy career at MSU.

I never said anything of the sort. Why would you say something so vile? You must be a hater.
Kid had a great career; imagine how much better it could have been if the choach did not selfishly abuse the kid for personal gain and actually developed the kid at his natural position.

Troy is a very intelligent young man. I never saw any indication from him that he thought he was being abused or he was unhappy. If that was the case you would have thought he would have transferred. It is just the opposite. He is always talking about how much he liked being at MSU and being a Bobcat. I agree with Indian-Outlaw, about your stupid post. I hear a lot of the draft experts talking about his success playing multiple positions at MSU as a positive for the draft.

You're calling me a hater and vile? Cute!!!
Maybe you're right it was selfish of Choate to play Andersen at QB. Even if they needed a QB and it was best for their team. He was a first team all conference at the position and led the league in TD's. But they should have thought how it was going to affect his NFL draft position at lb four years later. I'll follow your posts for more pearls of wisdom.

You mean except for getting hurt while playing the wrong position and having to beg the coaches to change him to his natural position?

I’m pretty sure he literally cried the word “uncle”.

You said it!

And don’t forget about the year wasted at RB, the year as an edge/outside, and the lost year.

Do you think Hauck would have wasted 5 of the kid’s 6 seasons at the wrong spot?

I’ve heard draft people say he is raw and still needs to learn the position, and was over running tackles at the senior bowl. A Hauck-trained LB is the opposite (over-achieving, not over-running). If he went to LB-U, he would be getting drafted higher than his closest comp (Muma @ WY). There’s no doubt in my mind he is a better athlete than Muma, so why is Muma projected higher? Wyoming suck balls but Muma knows the position.

That’s one thing I will give credit to ve6an, he finally got the kid in the right spot. Better late than never I guess.

The MT cowboy and the WY Cowboy (Muma) even have direct film. They played together twice last season, once head-to-head and again at the Senior bowl, and by all accounts, the cowboy out-played the other Cowboy. So why is the slower, less athletic Cowboy being projected to get drafted before the other cowboy?

If I was the cowboy and the Wyo Cowboy got drafted first, I would be suing MSC and naming Choat-y-McChoateface individually.

perhaps the slower, less athletic cowboy just happens to have some sort of unmeasurable physical or mental trait that just plain makes him a better linebacker? it may have happened before.

No physical trait went “unmeasured” with these guys.
So you must mean a mental trait? Like knowing the position better through additional experience and proper training?

Ya, you gotta remember some of the posters over here are working with a limited gene pool. Anyone remember heading into Cat\griz in Bozo, 2019? TA BEGGED Choate to let him play. Choate just smiled and said I know it's painful but no chance in hell you're taking a snap in this game.

adaptability, motivation, even just general interest - not all good football players "love" the game. but, whatever blows your mind, that's ok!
