I bet he gets a tryout at a camp. He had a nice Pro Day and had a good career for MSU. I'd call his chances slim, but I definitively wouldn't call it none.
Most if not all would have honestly said Kirk had no chance all the way up to the moment he ran a 4.55 at pro day. I agree with you that he'll get a look now. I like Cody and the kid represents everything that is good about college athletics, but any reasonable person would still tell you it's a very long shot at this point. I wish him the best of luck.
NFLdraftscout.com has his pro day 40 time at 4.65. In fact, it says he ran that twice.

Up above on that page it shows each of his 40 times: 4.55 and 4.75. I have no idea what they put that note on the bottom that he ran 4.65 twice and it's strange that they have two conflicting pieces of information on the same page. I remember the 4.55 conversation when it happened, so that's the one I believe. Personally I like 4.65 twice because the 4.75 puts him out of consideration for sure, but for Cody, having the 4.55 on the books will mean he will likely get another look with somebody. I'm not holding my breath but it will be fun to watch him give it a shot.
The numbers up above in the chart on the site are not what he ran on pro day (4/16). Having looked at this site for many years, those numbers appear to be the range/max of what a player could run on a good day and a bad day. The pro day numbers are the numbers in the pro day box below--or at least the pro day numbers obtained by the site. His pro day number must be 4.65--not 4.55. Sometimes the site seems to adjust the middle number above to actual pro day numbers, and sometimes they don't.
Note that official pro day numbers are not released immediately, so the numbers that get into newspaper articles and on the internet right after pro day, are often not very reliable. There are multiple watches/clocks at pro day. People sometimes will say a number out loud. It may or may not be the watches used by the person running the pro day, and compiling the official stats. Even players usually don't know for sure what they ran; they just have heard some numbers, either right away or a bit later in the day.
Here's info from another site (which I'm not familiar with). These are from UM's pro day in mid-March. Note how different the times are from the unofficial ones apparently released to the Missoulian for their article the day after the UM pro day.
"A couple of Montana State players also had pretty good days as DE/OLB Preston Gale (6-2, 255), for one, ran n adjusted time in the 4.65-4.70 range, managed 30 reps in the BP and a 33"vertical, while RB Cody Kirk (5-9, 215) posted athletic leaps of 38"in the vertical and a 10-0 BJ, while pressing 20 reps in the BP and also clocking in the 4.65 range in the 40."

Note that Kirk participated in UM's and MSU's pro days, and NFLdraftscout.com has the MSU results. I didn't see any results listed in a Chronicle article after the MSU pro day, but maybe you can post them.
