should be very competitive, with more talent than we've seen in a long time--kids that have signed with montana, montana state, wake forest, wyoming and weber state. of course, we'll be anxious to see how derrick selvig measures up.

on the women's side, we should get an early read on the talent of dvera tolbert. she was double and triple-teamed in high school while still averaging 27 points and 12 rebounds. it'll be good to see how she does against tougher competition.

I just posted this on Bobcatnation.com

The Annual Montana Wyoming Basketball games take place tonight, and tomorrow. I can not make it this year, son has surgery Monday, and Alas this is the one thing that supercedes basketball.

Boy's
Montana has put together the the best team it has had in maybe ten years. We have size, we have depth, and we have 3 D-1 players. The only problem with this team is that they left off the team 6-6 Tyler Hurley who is arguably the 3rd-4th best player in the state. He is the most egregiously omission from the Montana all star team in the last 20 years. I digress, though..... The only problem is that on paper it looked like Wyoming was fielding the best team (either state) EVER..... by far! They had boy's on the team who had signed by Wake Forest (James Johnson) , Weber (Kyle Bullinger ), Wyoming (Adam Waddell) and N.Colorado (Arthur Steward ), and another player who may yet sign. That said I am told Bullinger (schedule problem), and Wadell (Mono) will not be playing. Still it will be a tough game for the Montana. Despite having Bobby Howard, Derek Selvig and Jeff Edwarda I would not be surprised if Montana will be swept. Key for the game, Bobby Howard must have a big game, if he does that will open things up for Selvig to have a big game. Despite all of Selvigs talent I still don't believe he is a natural number one guy, but prefers to be a number two. If Bobby can get hot that will take pressure off of Selvig and open up his offence, but more importantly allow the team (Howard) to take full advantage of Selvigs passing ability. Edwards need to prove he is a defencive stopper.

Girls

This is the weakest girls team in 20 years. One D-1 player, normally we will have 5 and as many as 7 D-1 players. Wyoming has a pretty strong team, though not over powering. The 6-1 Talbot girl from Hardin will need to get off early and they will need someone to go wild from 3 point land
