LadyGriz Montana Western Women's Coach Opens

Just left western
He left Western 2 years ago. He went to Utah state for year and was let go with the entire staff. Then spent this last season with the Lady Griz. Western may have an interest in hiring him, he did, after all win a national NAIA championship. I think he and his family are happy returning to Missoula. Don't have any idea if he would trade his present position for a NAIA Head Coaching job.

The coach at Western (I think her name was Cooper) played at Western and was an assistant at Western before joining Nate Harris as an assistant at Angelo State in Texas. She then made it back to Western as head coach for 3 years. She was apparently fired after only 3 years. Given that she had been a former star player at Western, things must have really spiraled downward. I think it is interesting to see that the coaching relationship between Harris and Wooley goes back a ways.

I seriously doubt that Wooley would want to go back to Western. He was looking for a change when he went to Utah State for a year knowing that the Utah State staff was on thin ice. That at least polished his resume' and helped him get the job here as an assistant. I have to assume that Nate was pulling for him to get this job. Wooley grew up in Missoula. Nate's family (and his wife's family) both live in Missoula.

If things go well, we may have a coaching staff for the ages.

According to the press conference with Harris and Haslam, it sounds like all the current staff is staying - so maybe they just have one spot to fill (Nate's former spot) on the coaching staff.
