So... after a full season plus of considering potential GrizWBB recruits here at eGriz... including analysis re: where help is most needed (most say post), the 2023-24 season is near a tipoff.

She, then coach Brian Holsinger address Montana's 2023 core downfall: defense. Or lack of it.
That, in my opinion, is the necessary focus. Because, even a cursory review of 2023 statistics, particularly Montana's collected second-tier rank in several defensive categories, fully explains what happened on the floor to the GrizWBB over the season, and especially at crunch time. Coach Holsinger is quoted extensively about necessary defensive changes/improvements this team must make. I know there are those who question Montana's ability to do that this year. We will soon find out.
I personally don't know, though two transfers with solid resumes as defenders seem to boost Holsinger's case. Regular eGriz poster BigSkyBreakdown, in particular, stresses Montana's need for a dominant (my description) post in order to compete vs. the top four Big Sky teams, especially EWU.
ALSO: for those critical of a lack of current, up-to-date and fully complete player, coach, team and Montana Griz History... it's all here in the 2023-24 Lady Griz Prospectus... online and easy to reference.
The tone of the preview hints that Montana is ready. I'm ready to see how this 2023-24 team will meld, develop team chemistry, and compete. I'm also curious to see if and/or how Montana coaches have prepared for the season. Games vs Gonzaga and Washington State will surely test this team's mettle from the tipoff. Go GrizWBB!
