Definitely the two hottest teams from the Big Sky. It proves the theory that hot teams win tournaments. Montana has a 5 game winning streak while Weber has won 6 of their last 7. Take a look at each of the team's last couple of games:

Montana: 55-53 EWU, 79-65 PSU, 77-69 @ NAU, 58-48 EWU, 79-67 MSU

Weber: 57-55 SAC, 94-73 NAU, 65-63 @ EWU, 66-80 @ Boise (Loss), 79-56 ISU, 74-71 @ SAC, 71-61 PSU

I'm glad we're playing Weber instead of PSU. Portland would have had a crowd behind them and wouldn't have been rusty like they were against Weber tonight. Weber's a tough team that has been playing well as of late, but you have to like Montana's chances.

The game in Ogden was one where Montana couldn't get going and had a couple chances to get back into the game, but didn't have the patience to make the extra pass like they do now. In Missoula, the game was never in doubt, although Weber did make a run towards the end of the game to make it look closer than it actually was. Should be a good one...I'm already getting excited!

Unfortunately, I'll be stuck listening on the radio since I'm working nights in Arizona. Everybody else enjoy the ESPN2 coverage tomorrow night!

I like our chances aswell. Kamar struggled a bit today on offense and he'll come out ready to go. I don't think Martin can play as well as he did but Criswell should be able to shoot better from the field. This situation reminds me of the 2002 BSC Tourney in Bozeman. Griz beat Cats in the semis and then beat EWU for the title. With Oakland winning we will likely avoid the play-in game and if we get lucky we might get a 15 seed like we did in 2002. Before all of that, let's take care of business tomorrow and sweep the important conference championships(FB, WBB, and MBB).

One huge difference between now and when the Griz lost to Weber @ Weber. The Griz have Davis back :) Also, the Griz seem to be playing a lot more with a 3 guard lineup getting Matthews in more often. I still can't believe he had 8 assists in the game VS MSU. I'm not sure but that may be the highest number of assists 1 Griz player has had all year. I know Martin has had quite a few assists in a game before..but I'm not sure if he's ever gone above 8. Matthews played only 3 minutes in the loss to Weber earlier in the year, and obviously Davis played 0 since he wasn't eligible. When the Griz beat Weber at home, Davis had 23 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block, 1 assist and 1 steal. Matthews played 19 minutes, had 6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

I like the Griz's chances against Weber. The game Davis played against them, they couldn't stop him. 10-13 from the field, & he made 2-2 from 3 point range. Should be a good game :) Unfortunately I'm at work while its on, so I'll be recording it, and keeping myself in the dark until I get home to watch it.

Man I hate doing that.. I had to do that for the National Championship also :P Its so tempting to load up egriz and check in...

That's something I've been thinking about too: The impressive triple crown of college ('s most marketable) sports.

But there are some questions...

Does a tournament championship count as conference championship?

Would a basketball championship in '05 be compatible with a football championship in '04, or are we talking academic year?

Having these three sports in their respective postseasons in the same academic year would be the highest accomplishment (and I'm not talking about conference postseason). Did this ever happen to UM?

:o :o Weber was 18-18 from the free throw line until the end. They shot lights out. They played most of the game without Lance Allred who had a least 19 double double during the year. Montana just ran Allred into the ground in Missoula although he is well rested after last night sit. Weber must have found a few players. Riggs and Stoval were carrying them last night for awhile. Portland States Boxley finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Weber did not look like they could handle Montana transition in Missoulawith Allred in the game but with an All Conference player that has gotten over 20 points and 20 rebounds I assume he is an option. Last night against Portland State Weber got a 59 to 46 lead and did not score again for over nine minutes and the score was 59-56 they finished up at the line in the last minute to win by 10. :o :o

1. Yes
2. We ARE talking academic year(2004-05), and so the answer is Yes
3. Didn't it happen in 2002? I can't remember right now

:o :o Too much ESPN 2 to get many takers to go at this point. A trip to the big dance would be an acceptable option. If Big Sky draws Illinois that venue may be too distant. But I can get used to the screen. I do not think Weber has the depth to keep up with Illinois therefore we need to step up and take one for the conference. :o :o

A bigger problem is the Wednesday night game - it was the only way to stay on ESPN2, but it means there will only be a couple thousand there tonight at best. As far as Illinois, if the Griz win they could be a 15 playing Arizona.
