this game was horrible. yeah 4 players scored in double digits, but it's UC-Riverside. They were 2-8. I fail to see why Tinks is playing that many players. Coaching has killed us thus far.
If you don't play a lot of combinations in the pre season, when in your estimation do you try different lineups? I can't wait for this answer.
Trying different lineups in the preseason is not a bad thing. I'm all for playing players to see how well they can do. You play to win the game though. If player's aren't doing well, you bench their ass. There's game thus far where players were not capitalizing. Playing 13 players is the result of barely beating UC-Riverside, and also contributes to the result of our losses so far.
I am curious if you were at these games since most of the losses came on the road, 3 of them in Orlando. I can point out several instances where Tinks did "becnch their ass"' as you refer to it. I am curious who was playing extended minutes, stinking up the place, and Tinks left them in the game. If you think close games are a result of coaching then you must not watch a lot of basketball. Take a look around the country at elite programs. Basketball is much different than Football. In football more often than not the best team is going to win. In basketball there are upsets every might.
Did Mark Few of Gaonzaga suddenly become a bad coach because Washington State beat them? How about 2nd ranked Pitt barely beating lowly Buffalo today by 3? Buffalo has but a single win. Must be Coach Dixon doesn't know what he is doing right? #20 Nevavda gets spanked by UNLV tonight. How can that happen? Coaching? There were 3 other top 25 teams beaten today by unranked teams. My point is, wining is more important to those ranked teams now and they are getting beat by lesser teams. Reality in the BSC is they are a 1 trick pony when it comes NCAA time. Win the league it means nothing but a host role for the tournament and a 1st round bye. You can go undefeated in the BSC and unless you win the BSC Tourney, you are not going to the NCAA tournament. So Tinks is playing a far better schedule than many of his predecessors did trying to get his team ready for conference play. He is trying multiple cominations in multiple situations. They are trying to identify leaders and go to guys, establish roles. It takes a few games when you lost your 2 leaders from last season.
