Not only are the T-Buffs the greatest athletes in the history of the world, their fans are also the most humble! Thank you for logging in to eGriz.com to express your awesome humility! :thumb:

Exactly. I was talking to a T-Buff fan on a layover at Sea-Tac. He said the T-buff fan base was the #1 most humble fan base in the world and nobody else even came close.

Yep it was fun being in Missoula in 2003 and watching a Bison victory in Washington Grizzly Stadium. Really looking forward to watching a Bison victory in Washington Grizzly stadium again. Your players will also have a cool experience of playing against the best FCS team in the country.

Bwahaha! I think our players are more than used to the main stage, dude. They play every home game on it! This is just another game when you have the history and tradition of the Montana Grizzlies. Conversely, I bet a lot of UNDSU fans consider this one of the biggest games in program history. A T-Buff win could put you guys on the map.

It will indeed be very difficult for NDSU to ever match the history the Griz football program has made by being the most successful runner up ever in the D1AA/FCS national championship game. I don't think you will ever see a team get close to hanging 5 runner up banners like the Griz have.

Yeah, it's been cool to have such sustained success with really only one bad year out of the last 30 or so. We don't really like to brag about it, though. Most UM fans learned long ago that the "look at me" stuff is best left to the newbies.

After having 2 losing seasons in the previous 40 seasons and winning 8 national championships in that time period, it was certainly refreshing in 2003 to see that a non playoff D2 NDSU program could beat the #3 team in the FCS in Montana who was supposed to be an FCS powerhouse. Certainly made me confident that once NDSU moved up, it wasn't going to take much to become the premiere program at that level.

It definitely must have been cool over the last 30 years of being successful at finishing 2nd place. A lot of years you got the privilege as a fan of watching your program hang up the runner up banner. The Griz have been tremendous at that and nobody can touch the tradition the Griz has of losing the national championship game.

Haha! It's not surprising that the Griz were the measuring stick, as always.

Sometimes I think we start to lose the forest for the trees, so just to zoom out for a minute: You do realize that you are a fan of the North Dakota Bison, right? It's North Dakota. Think about that for a second. Wait. Just a bit longer. Now, is there something else about the T-Buffs you want to post on eGriz.com?

Uh, yeah, I just wrote that it has been cool.

Well to be fair my intital concern was that it was a waste of money moving up if the Griz were supposedly one of the best teams the FCS had to offer. Christ it was easier to beat the #3 FCS team than it was to beat now defunct UNO.

Come on CDA, don't say were. The Griz are still the prime example of what it takes to become a program good at bringing that runner up banner home. What is it 5 runner up banners displayed at Washington Grizzly stadium?

Priceless! Even in a down year without a QB, the Griz were what teams used to gauge a move up decision! That is flat out hilarious. Not gonna lie, it is pretty fun to see FCS fans flock to eGriz when anything happens.

"Hans, did you hear about [FCS news] that didn't involve the Griz in any way?"
"Sure did, Pete, what do the Griz fans have to say about it?"
"Hold on, I have eGriz.com bookmarked . . ."
"Cool, get on there and make sure the Griz fans know about [FCS news]."

I wrote "were" because you referenced a 2003 game, and "were" is the past tense of "are." It's possible, if not very common, to be something in the past and still be that something today. In this example, you've admitted that the Griz program was what you used in 2003 to gauge the T-Buff move up decision. There's no test or anything, but I need to believe the general public can grasp this.

In other news, let the record reflect that a T-Buff fan is actually attempting to discredit a program for making a lot of NC games. I really didn't want to do this, but you're acting like lil' buff bro.

You guys didn't have a QB hugh? Must have been ridiculously hard to play with 10 offensive players on the field. Seems like that was a poor coaching decision to play all year without a QB.

Nope. There was someone suited up, but he was not a QB. His name wasn't Hugh, though (weird). Or are you calling me Hugh (still weird)? It wasn't all year. Ochs came back.

Hold on man. I would not ever try to discredit the 5 time D1AA/FCS runner up Montana Grizzlies. It is extremely hard to make it to the title game and subsequently finish 2nd on 5 occasions. The Griz have proven to be better at doing that than any other program.

Good. I don't think any Griz fan would be foolish enough to discredit the three time national champion T-Buffs. Any program that can recruit a bunch of Minnesotans to play in that gym in that god awful town in that eye sore of a state is definitely doing something right.

When is the last time MT won a big game?

As recent as 2009 when they won a semi final game were able to add another national champion runner up banner to their collection. They also last beat EWU, the powerhouse team of the Big Sky, 5 attempts ago in 2011.
