Well, their big guys are ok but even their web site tells of difficulty in stopping the 3..of course, they are good at it too....that doesn't make it less interesting....I remember Vermont, Valpo, Davidson...they had shooters no bigs and did ok...have faith...if they lose well, the lose. But to go into that game thinking you are not good enough, is depressing to think about. I think our guys are young enough and exposed to street ball enough to not back down....citay said:GrizLA said:NCState freshman star and high point guard, Kapita(?) cannot travel to V.I. for visa reasons...this game just got more interesting..
No it didn't. We do not have the bigs yet to compete with these teams. Rorie, Pridgett, yes. But the cavalry doesn't arrive till next year.

I agree why would you need anymore of a visa for the US VIs than you do for the US mainland. On a side note, as I recall, they have a really small arena. Weird they have such a big tournament in such a small venue. Another side note, St John is the best VI.ordigger said:GrizLA said:NCState freshman star and high point guard, Kapita(?) cannot travel to V.I. for visa reasons...this game just got more interesting..
Why? It's a US Territory...unless this is in the British Virgin Islands. I've been to St Thomas many times, with nothing more than a Driver's License.
Not sure but he is from Africa and visa might be invalid there. He averages 17 points per game, a freshman guard. They do have other talent for sure...ordigger said:GrizLA said:NCState freshman star and high point guard, Kapita(?) cannot travel to V.I. for visa reasons...this game just got more interesting..

Freshman forward Ted Kapita will miss N.C. State’s three games in the Paradise Jam tournament in the Virgin Islands due to a student visa issue, coach Mark Gottfried said on Tuesday.
N.C. State is working with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to get Kapita’s student visa paperwork updated. There is a risk if Kapita leaves the country, he would have trouble getting back in through customs.
Kapita is originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and spent last year at DME Academy in Melbourne, Fla. He is not in jeopardy of being deported from the country but leaving the United States, even for a U.S. territory, would require updated I-20 paperwork that has Kapita affiliated with N.C. State.

YES!! National exposure. Maybe even better than winning the game. However, I would like to win the game. And we could've had the game. National exposure definitely helps with recruiting.grizzlyjournal said:citay said:The very first benefit of the schedule upgrade: The Griz are on TV. Real TV. (As opposed to Big Sky TV.) :thumb: Yes. They've already been on Pac 12 Network to a broad western audience. They'll also be on SEC Network when they play Ole Miss.
Ditto. Thanks Coach DeCuire.
