Griz played a journeyman game of basketball tonight, very good defense, moments of individual brilliance -- Krslovic and Weisner could have been Gymnasts -- nice to see Kemp have some positive action.

Just back from the game. Very impressed with the hustle and heart by the team tonight. Weisner and Kemp in particular sold out every second they were on the floor. Gregory was as efficient as possible. He did not shoot often as he normally does, but was one hell of a playmaker with passing tonight. He also played terrific defense.

Dunn was also very efficient on offense, and like Gregory played great defense. Breunig cannot buy a break this season with Big Sky officials. Despite foul trouble he still got double digits. Kemp's first basket showed a lot of power. His 2nd bucket was from a great pass, I think from Krslovic. Two key plays tonight were momentum changers for the GRIZ. Riley Bradshaw's 3 ignited the GRIZ rest of the 1st half. Then Jordan Gregory's 4 point play was the spark the GRIZ needed to keep a comfortable distance from Idaho.

It was nice to see the GRIZ play well without Breunig and Krslovic for significant time. Weisner is leading by example. He played fearless with diving on the floor and going for the ball time and time again without regard to his body. I am surprised he did not get injured. Speaking of injury, I am not sure how Gfeller was not hurt from the elbow he took, which Idaho got away with a foul. Gfeller took a very hard elbow in the 2nd half.

Defensively the GRIZ played much better and not too many open looks for Idaho. Offensively, the GRIZ passed the ball well. Took care of the ball much better. They also executed well in the 2nd half. The 1st half was a matter of shots not falling and yet another slow start.

Great job GRIZ. On the road next weekend. Need to get a split.

One of the great traditions, lost.

I still LOL when I think of the Ref who threatened to call a technical foul on the Montana team if one more potato was rolled across the floor.

And the involuntary smile that came across his face when somebody threw out a box of freeze-dried potatoes ...

College kids add a lot of fun to games when they can be front and center.

I do think the Griz did a good job last night. The slow starts kind of color the game perceptions a bit, but if the first five minutes are disregarded, the Griz played with intensity but more deliberately on the offense, and very well on the defense. If Gregory can get his 3 pt accuracy back up, and they can figure out how to get Bruenig out of the crosshairs that opposing teams have him in, this is and will be a very formidable team.

What was with the pass pass pass don't shoot mid way through the second half? Idaho's D wasn't that great.. was that TD taking time away from Idaho?

The passing was effective in the second half. Not only did it make Idaho play defense for longer stretches but was good to see guys looking to get good shots for each other. While Breunig was out with foul trouble I think Decuire was wanting them to work for good shots & to involve everyone. That's how it sounded in the Missoulian. Also, even when Breunig is in there it will be good to rotate/swing the ball a lot more to loosen up the defenses trying to front & double him, so they can get the ball to him in position to score.

Nice Highlights Video.
