Montana Timberjacks 17U AAU team

Wow, these boys did the Treasure State proud! Several should be D-1 material!

I don't know much about the Idaho Kid on the team but I am told that Garland is the best D-1 prospect, and as far as I know Montana State is the only D-1 team recruiting him. I think, though, Long soldier is only a junior.

Is Longsoldier a D-1 player? I've seen him play once and he looked Pac-10 caliber, very athletic with a good frame, but never played much defence. Doubt he's ever really been coached on how to play D that much. I feel as though he would be a great get for the griz.

Any word on how Osweiler is playing?

I can not find out exactly who/where he played for. I know earlier in the year he played for the Portland Legends team in a lot of Non-officially sanctioning AAU tourneys. The tourney(s) in Vegas were sanctioned events. As such a player can only play for a team officially based in his own state or a neighboring state. As such Brock could only play for a team from Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, or the Dakotas. This rule kept Selvig (Oregon) and Howard (Washington) from playing for their AAU team.

For the record Greg Hicks, of Scout.com has Brock listed as the third rated Center in the west. The problem I have is that at 6-7 to 6-8 and with his skill set Brock will be a forward in college.

Long Soldier never played with the Timberjacks in Vegas because Stang gave him the boot back in May when he showed up hung over for a game they had in a Spokane tourney. Stang doesn't put up that crap and obviously he's a good enough coach to not have to. AJ is overrated.

No coach should have to be good enough to boot a player off for that reason. The worst coach in the country would be expected to do the same.

FYI
Actually, My friend specifically was went to the Timberjack's game against the Minnesota Select team. He was their to check on Garland, Henkle and Longsoldier. He saw someone listed and looked like Longsoldier playing in Las Vegas. He also heard that Longsoldier was transferring to Harlem this year.

I agree no coach should ever put up with that but, my point was Stang is a good enough coach to were a team he is coaching loses a good player like that and they still go on and win. Great talent on that team which makes the coaching side easier but, 5 wins in Vegas is impressive for any team. I heard Steve Keller was bad mouthing their performance at the coaches convention last week in GF. That's real smart to do, get a head college coaching job and then go out and bad mouth some of the top prep players in the state. What a dandy.

I was in Vegas and saw one of their games....Henkle and Garland both had very good offensive games, scoring from all over the court, but mostly from outside. Garland is a decent player but he is honestly the laziest kid I have ever seen. Anytime the other team had a fastbreak he was by far the last player down the court. I don't see him playing D-1 because he is a post, and way to small to be a post in college, but I've been wrong about players before so who knows.

DoctorBBall you must be craig baumgartner. Garland lazy he averaged a double double the whole tourney and one game he had a triple double the third stat being blocked shots. He is far from lazy just ask anyone in Missoula. Hang out with the kid for a day and you'll see your opinion is dead wrong. Whoever posted that long soldier is of Pac-10 caliber you're dead wrong as well. far from it.

no, i'm not craig b. know him though. and you can say what i want, but i was at the game, were u? maybe he was tired, maybe he got drunk the night before, who knows? but i do know that he didn't move out of second gear the whole game. that doesn't mean he didn't score and rebound. but he was moving slow as hell

Doctor BBAll I was at all their games Jim Mee is my cousin and I knew all the other Montana people there. Garland is far from lazy and he lead that team to 5 wins. Being tired is not the same as being lazy and what kind of numbers a player puts up shows how good or bad a player they are. Got drunk the night before? you're an idiot for making that assumption about Garland the kid is a very deicated athlete just ask anyone in Wetern Montana. Only Baum's players get drunk because, he buys them booze that's one way he recruits kids to play for him and it's one big reason he can't get kids from Washington to play for him. Also, Montana kids are staying away from him because of his illegal crap as well.

as your name states your obviously 16 and i'm not going to get into a childish name calling arguement with you. and if jim is your cousin that kids a baller. good luck to him.
