When the Griz have lost to DM it has been because of his feet. Even when he is healthy his throwing doesn't impress me much but it seems he will nearly always get that 3rd and "X" by escaping the rush. I might be tempted to spy him, especially if the Cat RBs are not tearing it up. If they aren't and DM is contained, it will make for a VERY long day for the Cat's offense because DM is not going to beat you as a pocket passer.

BW, thanks as always for your effort here. I agree with player rep that the Griz seen to be figuring things out as the season progresses and the Cats seem to be fading. That being said, the Cats are at home, and I expect them to fight like their lives depend on it. I imagine they'll put everything on the line for a win on their senior day.

One thing we know is that this Grizzly team won't panic if they fall behind early. I suspect we could see another come-from-behind win for the Griz. I'd sure love to see Van and maybe Counts hit the field to supplement the ground game.

On a personal note, this will be the first time since 2006 that I am not in charge of organizing the Griz-cat party in Portland. I'm looking forward to being able to sit and watch the whole game.

The Cats are just not that good this year, only pretty good, is my view. As has been their habit in the recent years, they fade later in the year. They seem to be fading in recent weeks. McGhee is good but is not having a great year.

I think UM will win. It feels like UM is going up, and MSU is going down. However, this is a rivalry game and anything can happen. Go Griz!

My impression is that, after the beatdown in Cheney, the 'scats have essentially "mailed it in".

#33 Shawn Johnson, RB – The “x-factor” on this team, IMO. Johnson is a very fast and shifty play-maker, he has really impressed me with what I’ve seen out of him. He’s 2nd in rushing with 598 yards and 5 TDs, he’s 4th in receiving with 227 yards and 1 TD. He’s got a solid 10.5 yard per average on his punt returns and a big 31.8 kick return average with 2 KR TDs. No shock here, he’s the team leader in all-purpose yards with 150 per game.

Johnson worries me more than Kirk and Bleskin. Kirk is a power back, I would like to think/hope our defense can stand him up as best as possible and get after him. The Griz adjusted well on USD's power back in the second half and shut him down. Bleskin is going to get yards, no doubt about that, but I don't see him as a big YAC kind of guy, he'll be closely guarded.

What we've seen as an issue with the defense is over-pursuit on shifty runners and that's exactly what Johnson is.

I agree, but in watching the MSU/SUU game, his injury looked worse than Cody Kirk's. I hope they're both healthy and that they both play, but they looked gimpy by the end of that game.

I wonder if DM is injured. He looked tentative and lost on Saturday.
