Honest question....How long do you have to be a fan of a team before you are no longer a "Bandwagon" fan. I don't really have a dog in this fight (I have been a Detroit Lions fan for as long as I can remember crying). My 9 year old son is a Seahawks fan, is he a "Bandwagon" fan because he has only liked them for about 5 years? Is it 10,20,30 years before you are a true "Fan"? Do you have to have liked the team when they sucked to truly be a fan? I never understood this.

And just so you can all live in the HELL that is my sports life...Here are my teams

Bobcats
Royals
Lions
Coyotes (NHL)
Kings (NBA)
Michigan Wolverines
Good question. I chose the Bengals when I was four and we lived outside Cincinnati.

A couple years later, when I was growing up in Montana, I chose the Seahawks as my #2 team.

Now I have lived in Seattle metro for over ten years. Must I be labeled a band wagon fan?

At least you have the Royals!

Hung over, still a little sick to my stomach and still very much pissed but YES, Still a Hawks fan!! :thumb:

Yankees since 1953; they had best baseball card logo and uniforms; besides there were too many Dodger fans in the neighborhood. Read every box score. Figured out the Mick was pretty good. Hit bottom during the CBS ownership years.

49ers since 1956; found them on football cards; Y.A. Title was the QB. Hard to even get scores back then. Even though my favorite player in the 60's was Jerry Kramer from Idaho. Niners hit bottom when they hired Dennis Erickson.

Grizzlies since 1958; those Montana/Wyoming games in Billings. Painful as they were.

Sun Devils since 1968; I'd never seen speed like that up close. Game nights were electric. Frank Kush. Alliance wavered, but did not break, when they hired Dennis Erickson.

Anyone Playing the SeaHawks since 1995; Dennis Erickson again appears; I don't like their style; they get away with murder.

I've lived all over the US; cannot understand how anyone could change team alliances.

Good story Grizbeer. I hear that bandwagon comment all the time and I don't really get how it started. I have followed the Seahawks since 79 and attended my first playoff game in Miami in early 80s. I recall being around a lot of Seahawks fans in those early years. As for good Seahawk bar, Swanee's is not bad in Polson-vast majority of fans are Seahawk and the food is great for reasonable price. I will be in Orange County sometime tomorrow. Anyone know of Seahawks bars down there? Weird it will be on at 10am.

There are obviously diehard Seahawk fans, and that's great, I just wish they would break out their Largent jerseys so we could know who they are. The bandwagon comment comes from people like my wife's Aunt and Uncle who didn't give two shits about the NFL their whole lives until three years ago and now they fill their Facebook feeds with Seahawk shit all the damn time like they were fans since they were kids.

That said, fan bases are built on bandwagon fans. It's just how it works. If there weren't bandwagon fans, the Rams stadium would have been full all year with passionate fans, but it wasn't. You can be annoyed with them, that's your right, but it won't change.

I will add that elitist fans are as annoying with their attitude that you can't be a fan of something unless you were born into it. Teams anywhere will take most any and all fans they can get!

I don't think my youth Kenny Easly jersey fits anymore, but I still have it, and Win, Lose or Tie I am a Seahawks fan till I die!!

I still remember watching Dan Doornink and Paul Skansi... I have a Curt Warner #28 shirt from when I was 7 or so... That's all I need to trump the bandwagon BS, but if people would really lose sleep over whether I was a real fan, then so be it...

Then it's easy to mention the hell of being a fan during the Behring years...
  :thumb:

So do we still have seahawks fans on the site after yesterday?? I'm guessing no.

Lots of Seahawks fans STILL here. I am sure GRIZ and SEAHAWK Brock Coyle, appreciates all the "love" from the haters on here.

This. I've rooted for all the same teams (except one) since I was a little kid.

I will be rooting for whoever wins the Arizona-Carolina game. I would not cheer for either New England or Denver.
