Montana Recruiting Since 2010

I typed up a breakdown of the Montana recruiting battle since 2010. Interesting stuff on both sides. It is an unbiased look that shows how the kids actually turned out during their careers. Crazy to see the "on-paper" studs that didn't cut it and the walk-ons who did. Anyway, if you are bored, take a look and discuss. I enjoyed doing it!

Nice job Vim! Thanks for the research! :thumb:

No problem. I got tired of both sides saying "we have dominated Montana recruiting". Got the facts and I see it as a split over the past six seasons.

That was an interesting read and a great breakdown of Montana recruiting. Thanks for sharing it. If you are feeling really energetic, I would love to see your analysis of out of state recruiting as well. Thanks again.

Oh boy, that would be quite the undertaking. From the Cat side, at a quick glance we have not fared well with our California recruits over the past several years. Some have been special but misses have been BAD misses.

Great read. Who are you and what have you done with the crazy cat fans????

Posted this over on Egriz and they seemed to also agree. Have I brought Egriz and Bobcatnation together as one?

No, they just like you

we still have too many people over there that cause problems

Really well done and agree with the assessments. Flies in the face of our resident troll growler who has claimed that MSU has beat the UM in recruiting every year since 2010.

Thanks for the effort. It may be, like the NFL draft, a little early to evaluate 2015, because truth be told - only state had more than one of their recruits out on the field. Despite what Stitt said, Calhoun would have probably held onto "redshirt" had the injury issues not gotten where they were. We have little to go on right now, optomistic as we'd like to be. Definitely agree that it's interesting to see scholly vs. walk-ons, both teams have had their fair share of surprises from both.

Excellent eval Vim! It just shows there are too many variables to judge who will be successful until a few years out and they strap on the pads at game time.

Proves the importance of actively recruiting walkons and partial scholarship players. Sometimes those kids develop into your best players
