Montana plays Texas A&M in NIT

In regard to the NIT helping in recruiting, does anyone know how Weber's run to the NIT championship a few years ago helped with their recruiting? If there's any Weber fans still lurking over here, any insight?
That was in the CIT, not NIT. CIT is good for getting in extra practices to prepare for the next year. like a pre-season tournament.

Ah... Gotcha!

The fact that they've lost 4 of their last 5 doesn't help us. They'll have a chip on their shoulder. But I don't think we'll lay an egg like we did against Syracuse.

Here's an interesting take on the situation: http://www.theeagle.com/aggie_sport...cle_89f9bfb6-cba9-11e4-9a10-e75368cb3bb6.html

A&M will have a huge home-court edge in not having to travel 2,000 miles. But as for the crowd?

A&M had 2,346 for Wyoming last year.

I guess the crowd will be bigger. Coach Billy Kennedy has offered to pay the students that want to show up.
They played Wyoming in a CBI post-season game, BTW, so they didn't make the NCAA championship last year either. (They lost in their second CBI game, to Illinois State.)

Not sure about the "chip on the shoulder." They actually seem pretty blasé about the whole thing, overall. If UM can "hang around" until late, A&M's three losses in a row could start to get in their heads ... and be an advantage for the Griz. Something to hope for anyway.

Had minute between honey-doos and looked in.

Wow, there's a LOT of hatin' over their about their coach, Kennedy. A surprising number of fans are hoping for a loss ... they apparently think they would be rid of the coach. His teams have been 70–57 overall, but 30–40 in conference. They looked okay this year until they lost those four late games. There's some lame insults about Montana here and there, but WAY more pissing and moaning about what a terrible coach they have. ;)

I hope we continue to see an aggressive Mike Weisner. He has the game to consistently put up 10 plus points per game. It was nice to see him squaring up for 3's, then driving the lane to draw fouls, where he is a good FT shooter too. Weisner is a much better scorer than his numbers indicate this season. Then again, his injury put him back mentally as well as physically. I have a feeling he will be looking to score like he did against EWU. We also need to make sure APB bulletin is answered with Gfeller finding his game again. I hope Travis asks Dunn to penetrate more often. That would be great preparation for next season.

Apparently, A&M has an outstanding batch of recruits coming in next year. But the fans have no confidence that Coach Kennedy will do any better than get them into the NIT again. To that, another fan posted:

If all our turdburger of a HC can accomplish with the most talented roster on paper ever at A&M is the freaking NIT, then he should be fired after the last game. Of course, we will give him the lifetime pity contract to continue to piss on the dumpster fire he has made of A&M MBB.
(The "pity contract" part refers to the fact that Kennedy has early-stage Parkinson's Disease.)

Still see hardly anything about the upcoming game (some problems with the ticket office, apparently), or Montana.

Texas A&M - Tied for 3rd in the 14 team SEC, and took #1 Kentucky (SEC Conf) to 2 OT.

Here's there season scores:

Some of the NIT games are only on ESPN3.
And the EWU-Georgetown NCAA game is on TruTV -- ????

There are several NCAA tourney games on Trutv every year.
Well, my DISH package doesn't have it, and I do have ESPNU.

If you are bitching about games you can't watch, it means you don't have DirecvtTV. I pay a King's ransom every month, but they give me every game in every sport I wanna watch if I am willing to pay for it. If sports is your #1 priority, get DirectTv already.

Sports is a priority for me, but certainly not the #1 priority in my life -- thus, I'm okay with not being able to watch some games here and there. I go read a book, or write a letter.

Understandable, and I didn't mean to rip on you personally as much as a general statement. It just seems a lot of people complain in this town when they can't get a Griz game on their system. The only game I've had to go to the bar to watch a game in the last 20 years was last year's playoff game which was a one-time $40? fee. I rather spent $40 at the bar

They also struggled with some pretty bad teams though too. 9-24 Charleston was within 2 points with about 2 mins to go in the game against Texas A&M on a neutral court. Hartford (14-16) was within 3 points with about 3 mins to go in the game @Texas A&M.

Hopefully THAT version of Texas A&M shows up on Tuesday.

Been reading their boards a bit to see if there's any info on whether their leading scorer (House) will be back for the game. The thread about the opening line (Griz underdogs by 12) mentioned that as of this morning House was listed as out for the game.

All good things to do when you can't watch a game. Me? I break out the slide rule and get busy on some trig.

Ew-w-w, I never liked slide rules much.
