Ughhh, I feel that pain. I was at that game, the only good part about it was that I got to meet Coach Read who greeted me like he knew me as we passed just before the end of halftime. I was going to Afghanistan the next month and he noted the close haircut and correctly guessed Army and gave his well wishes.
That was not a pleasant night though. The field fell apart, and I still see images of the offensive line picking up and tossing huge chunks of sod out of their way. Toward the end of the game, the stadium announcer, who was supposed to be giving the hometown calls, so we could say first down MONTANA, was so emphatic as he called out FIRST DOWN DUUUUUUUKES for JMU.
