Montana @ Omaha

Come on guys things are looking up. Yeah shooters are shooters but now we have a post presence, a real threat to score...that should make the shooters happy.

10 man rotation today

Couldn’t agree more Citay with your philosophy to foul when ahead by three with seconds remaining. I watched Jerry Sloan, coach of the Utah Jazz, for several years in SLC. Sloan was one of the all time great defensive players in the NBA. His philosophy was the same as Travis, don’t foul. I bet his, Sloans all time record was no better than 50/50. I say take the chance and foul. But I will defer to Coach Decuire, he knows a lot more than this spectator.

watching Gonzaga completely dismantle ewoo. Score 31 - 62 with seconds left in the half, Zags at the Kennel are unstoppable. always good to see ewoo getting served a dish of humility

Humility is getting beat by Montana Tech.

Agreed. Gonzaga is going to humiliate a lot of people this year--just as you did Omaha, and we did not.

that it was. at least in bball we get to play each other every year. the unbalanced schedule is bs. this year in fb was the first game in two or three years?

We have got to figure out how to put the ball in the bucket at a higher rate. We are 236th in FG%, 273rd in 3pt% and 235 in FT%. I know we are young and jelling and tough opponents etc. etc. but yikes.

PS Sayeed leads us in Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, and Blocks. He is unreal.

He is unreal I agree. I thinking adding Selcuk is going to pay huge dividends. I think having an inside scoring presence will free things up for Sayeed for one but also will help other perimeter guys get better shots. I didn't see it as much vs Omaha but when I saw him play in scrimmage he passed the ball very well out of the post. So as I think as he establishes himself as a scorer in the post that may force teams to double him in the post and he can find others for higher percentage shots and open 3s.

Have any of Travis' teams been able to shoot FT's? Seems to me they have struggled every year at the Foul Line

35th in FT% 75.2% in 2016/17 (Rorie 83%, Oguine 76%, Wright 87%, Pridgett 79%)
205th 70.6% in 2017/18 ( Rorie 85%, Oguine 73%, Pridgett 65%, Akoh 67%)
239th 68.9% in 2018/19(Rorie 81%, Oguine 71%, Pridgett 57%, Manuel 85%, Akoh 60%)

Most interesting among these is Pridgett's own slip in % over his career. 79% as frosh and 57% as junior. Not sure how he sits year to date. He's going to get to the line a lot this year...I'd like to see the 79% version of his FT shooting. His mid-range and three point shooting have both improved over is career. Why not the FT's?

Other observations.......Oguine and Rorie were both pretty adequate FT shooters...but last year was their lowest % year in UM careers........sub out one Walter Wright for one Jamar Akoh and the overall team percentage slips
