45 seconds remaining, La Tech has the ball. The Lady Techsters lead the Lady Griz 82-81 in the 3rd overtime. Tasha Crain drives up the middle, dishes off to Frierson on the outside wing. Frierson, guarded closely by Keller, dribbles down the baseline, double-teamed by Tyler. Dishes it out to Smith, back over to Crain. 34 seconds left. Crain dribbles to her left, almost stolen by Lorenzen, picked up by Frierson out on the wing. She puts up a three challenged by Deming. Off the front of the rim…ball rolling on the floor, both teams fighting for it...Monaco on the floor, ball in hand…time out Montana with 20 seconds showing on the clock. 7,500 fans on their feet going crazy!

Monaco inbounds to Lorenzen, trapped by two defenders, she dishes off to McLeod, McLeod dribbles over half court, back to Lorenzen at the top of the key, heavily guarded by Crain. Over to Deming, thinks about the three, back out to Brooklynn. 8 seconds on the clock! Brooklynn drives the right hand side, dishes inside to Tyler…Tyler makes her move, turn around jumper…ball rolls around the rim…one second…Deming from nowhere Slams it home as it comes off the front of the rim!!! GRIZ WIN! GRIZ WIN! 83-82!! Do you believe in miracles?!!

Make that score 42-41 Techsters and I will go with your scenario for the end of the FIRST HALF.

The second half the Lady Techsters come alive. They hold Montana to no field goals in the first 4 minutes outscoring them 16-0. The game is out of reach by then and we rest our starters for the next match-up.

Hey Montana just wanna say hi and a hope for a good game with you guys.

Techsters 89
Montana 52

I remember when we played pepperdine in 03 in the NCAA tourny, they couldn't hang, even last year overated ohio st was a breeze. Montana slow pace game can't control the Techsters fast tempo offense. Our girls will run and gun all over the place.

Go Techsters!

Wow,

Not much love for the Lady Griz here. Being a loyal Griz fan, I'll say Lady Griz win 74 - 70. Free throws and 2nd opportunities win it and send the La Tech home.

Ask my Dad though, IF the ladies play like they did against Eastern Washington. Lady Griz by 10, possibly more.

Look out La Tech!

I agree.... free throws will win it.
The game is being played late....
Techsters had to travel and get very tired waiting to play, run out of fuel in 2nd half, our Girls just get stronger!

Lady Griz 66
Techsters 61

Now go kick some BoooTay Lady Griz! :grab:

Come on, half our team needs ridlin. If you wear out our team, I'll drive up and buy you a beer, boy that one would be expensive.

Our team never gets tired when they go to Hawaii, Boise St, Fresno, or El Paso. Why would they be tired in Montana.

Can you say Hawaii, Boise, and Utep just as high.

sea level hawaii is just as high as montana? i guess you got some good bud down there in lowsianna. high high high on top of the mountain side.... spare some?

Just for information purposes, the altitude at Boise is 2871 feet ... at Missoula it's 3190 feet ... and at El Paso it's 3762 feet. :)

I hope La Tech comes in with the typical basketball superpower "we got screwed by the committee" mindset. Those are always teams ripe for an upset. It happened to the Gonzaga men a couple of years ago when they were ranked 6th nationally, but ended up with a 6-seed in their region. They spent the whole week bitching, and the next thing you know Wyoming boots the Zags from the tournament.

Or look at Utah State this year. They had a national ranking and only three losses, but all they got to show for it was an NIT bid. Then they talked about how they were going to prove the NCAA wrong and sweep through the whole NIT. So then they went up against Hawaii and got beat on their home court by double digits.

That's what I hope from La Tech. You can bet they really don't want to be here in an alien part of the country where their first round game is on the road against a Lady Griz team with a 20-game home winning streak and a hostile sold-out crowd. I think La Tech is the better team, but the Lady Griz's chances aren't bad. It will be a winnable game as long as they stick around long enough.

As a Tech fan, I hope we come ready to play. The team has certainly been fired up this week. Last year we were a 5 seed, as well. We promptly destoyed our first opponent and then handed the #4 seed a big loss, as well. Over the last few years, the committee has not given us any gifts, so we are getting used to it.

The key for the Griz will be to hold on during our big runs. The Techsters are known for big scoring spurts. It will start out innocent enough and then BOOM - all of the sudden we are on a 12-0 run in a minute and a half time.

Most teams play us close in the opening minutes. In fact many of the blowouts you see on our schedule were games that we started out trailing in the first couple of minutes.

I am looking forward to this game. Your defense sounds great, so we may not be able to score the amount of points that we are used to scoring. Just watch the fast breaks and transition game. That is our bread and butter.

Should be a good game! Thanks for the posts La Tech fans, it's always fun to go back and forth a little.

I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow night, I'm sure it'll be a great game.

Upset-minded here. Think the LadyGriz are up to the task.
What I hope to see after the final buzzer, Lady Griz 72 - Lady Techsters 69.
GO LADY GRIZ!
