Montana Kids On Roster

What ^^^^ said: risk/reward. It's part of MSU/UM bragging rights and each team has to have their fair share to maintain fan support. NDSU and others already 'told' their state citizens that they're going after the best in the nation and keep supporting us based on the W/L record.

Interesting comments. The more I think about it, it makes sense they are loading up with locals for fan support. I would think there probably 10 kids in Montana every year capable of playing FCS level football and to have 51 on the roster is loading up. By the way, my family has had many quality athletes, so I do have some knowledge of the subject. Oh, however, I just played football 3 years in high school in Montana.

Sadly I, too, only played 3 years in high school in Montana. But I do have one year of junior high football. What could we possibly even know? Why even discuss anything?

I think with both programs competing at or near the top of FCS and our rivalry across the board, each team has to load up with in state kids to a certain extent and develop as best as they can. I have a friend who walked on to the griz forever years ago, loved every minute of it, played special teams and a few games during garbage time. Highlight of his life and lifelong griz supporter with his $ and time. Of course he walked on the year we won the National Championship so I remind him of that every time I see him. He really appreciates it.....
