By the way..... we don't have a player by the name of Harris.

I know, I was typing while I was reading some other stuff...too excited about playing Nevada!I meant to add Charlo. As for your win against Kansas, it came in their 5th game of the year and was a 2 point win. Not bad but Kansas was playing a bunch of freshmen and sophomores then. Kansas has won 15 of their last 16 so they are a totally different team now.

The KANSAS team that won on Sunday is NOT the same team you played!!!! They were 2-2 at the time.

Good win but not much better then the 20 point spanking the Griz put on Stanford

I just got to say it again

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:tounge: You have to like a team that shares the ball. Montana is fourth in the Nation out of some 366 teams in assists. Which leads to 5th in the NATION out of some 366 in Field Goal percentage. :tounge:

Nevada may have been better than Washington last year.

Unfortunately I have not seen Nevada play this year.

I have seen Montana. and Montana plays a pretty good game when the team they are playing has not been on the floor with Strait before and does not have a lot of detail on Dlouhy sneaking around the back side. Nobody has any idea what Hasquet is doing.

Your excited about your Standford win??? The NIT team Stanford. You guys might want to do some research as well about Kansas. Kansas is still playing those same Freshmen and Sophmores you were talking about. Yes, some of Nevada's win were not by large margins, but were not like Dauke and Uconn how like to run the score up on some one. In half of our game are started play for only about 20 minutes. Im glad you guys think you have a chance against Nevada, but I think we are going to impress you. Dont look past us, you will be making a BIG MISTAKE!!! GO PACK!!!!!!

And they don't understand how Ellis can dribble out of the double team, or pick your pocket when not looking. And they don't figure a 7th guy coming off the bench (Chavez) can have such quick feet and hurt you inside, but still hit the 3. And the 8th guy (Martin) can drain 3's and play intense defense when he is on. And the 9th guy (Mayes) can dribble, shoot and rebound. And finally, this 10th kid (Sharp) is almost as good as Strait, and he is a true freshman.

10 or 11 deep is they , just keep rotating them.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither were sweet 16 appearances. just keep building and it will come.

Last year Montana got down by 16 in three minutes but then got the crowd into it and had about 11,500 fans behind them for the rest of the game. I assume Nevada will have a big group because it is an easy trip on interstate. But I think the place holds about 17,000 which should stir up a few fans for the underdog not the wolfdog. Might be fun especially if Montana does their old trail most of the game game.

I think the game is sold out except playing teams tickets - as long as Montana fans don't pull a Seahawks and sell tickets to Nevada fans, should be a strong Montana base - MWC/BSC vs WAC - I think underdog wins!

Upset upshot: Could this be the year that the 12-5 Curse is broken? Looks that way from the matchups. Maybe 11-6 is the new 12-5.

The Griz will not overlook you, but face it, facing Nevada is more appealing than North Carolina or UCLA. I am certain Nevada is already planning their second game, which plays right into the Griz hands.

The Stanford win was eon's ago, as was your kansas win. Beating Stanford won't beat nevada. However the fact that Nevada fan's think Griz fans are looking past them is reason for us to celebrate - it means the Griz 1) had enough respect from the committee to get a decent seed, and 2) enough respect from rational fans to think the griz could win a game. It is not an insult to Nevada, it is confidence in where the Griz are headed - and that should be good for the entire Mountain west region.

Don't worry Nevada, if you should win i think all of Montana will be behind a former conference brethren, we just feel good about how we have been treated for once.

Yes I did!

does anyone think fazekis is better than caleb green from oral roberts? green impressed me this year and handed it to the griz, but they still lost.
If nv wins i will definately be pulling for them b/c im still happy over their win over faga in 2004

I'll admit I'm not thrilled since I'm a worrier. I haven't memorized names yet, but your center sounds a lot like Harris of USU and we have trouble stopping strong, heavy guys with good low post moves. I think our guards will be able to check your three point shooters as they have done it all year. Look at USU's JC Carroll. One of the top 3 pt shooters in the NCAA and we shut him down three times. He only scored 4 points last night. The guards that can hurt us are the ones like Ingram of NMSU and Farmar of UCLA. Ones that can get into the paint and finish well. It sounds like you fans feel your guards are pretty quick, but the level of competition you have faced most of the year may not give you an accurate read. We'll see come Thursday.

Another worry is that you have forwards that can shoot the 3. Fazekas will have to come out to guard them sometimes and that hurts our rebounding and shot blocking.

On the positive side for Nevada, I don't think you've played a defense as good as ours all year. Your conference games haven't prepared you for the intensity of what you'll face in SLC.

For Montana to win, I think you need to have two of your players get hot from 3 and have us have a poor shooting performance at the same time.

Finally, would your coach let your team overlook a good though probably inferior team when heading into a tournament? Of course not, and you shouldn't expect Coach Fox to allow it either. We will be focused and ready to go.

Good luck Grizzlies. I have a lot of fond memories of Big Sky battles back in the 80s in both football and basketball. Your coach was perhaps the best player I ever saw at Lawlor in those days.
