True, I didn't even bother pointing out that you had spelled the name McGee as McGhee, so I'm still winning the internet 2-1.

Hope this is a mistake with Sims and Gubner. Need to swap spots.

As for the Sims and Gubner spots.....we only have 3 down Lineman and the stand up end rusher. So one is a nose and the other two are technically DEs. I know they have been really impressed with Gubner, his ability to shed blocks, and his high motor. These guys number 1 job is to eat blocks and let the LBs and safeties clean up. At this point I think Sims and Gubner are pretty interchangeable as the middle Lineman and we may see some of that.

They’re gonna go really deep this year on defense! I would bet Nagler, Nelson, Vinyard, Babros will be in there a lot! This is gonna be a fun defense to watch! Don’t see them tiring out and giving up leads at the end of games like last year! Go Griz!!!

I think that is awesome about Ryder Rice. Six man player and standout at Rocky and took a chance to challenge himself. I saw him play at Rocky against Carroll and I think he might have had 4-5 sacks in a half. He is fast..fast..fast.

After moving inside from D-end last year, Sims was a force at tackle in his junior season, racking up 42 takedowns, 3.5 TFLs, one sack, and a forced fumble. Now a year older and stronger (and trust us on this, he has definitely gotten stronger), Sims will once again anchor the D-line from the interior.

"Jesse has played some in around the center and looked very natural in there. It fits more of his skill set better in there," says Hauck.


"The kind of year Jesse has will be determined by how well he plays. He is in a position to do it, and now it is time for him to go and get after people. I am excited for him, I love coaching him, he is a tremendous guy, and I hope he has a big year. He is a hard worker."

This comment is not directed at Jesse. He is a great player and he will have a great year. Its also not directed at you because its not your quote but this might be one of the dumbest quotes I have ever heard.

That is because of the lighter hybrid OLB/DE - Rice, O'Connell, Grossman, etc. which must play coverage from time to time. The traditional DEs are mostly 240 - 260.

The 3 down lineman are 285, 270 and 258. Sims, the 270 guy, is one of the strongest guys on the team.

Cat d-lineman are: 299, 261 and 259.

Buck is 235.

UM big 3 average: 271. MSU big 3 average: 273.

Yes, you are correct. UM down d-lineman are undersized. 2 pounds less than Cats' big 3. Ha.
