Yep, I agree. Right now, I see the bracketbuster game as a throw-away. Go down there, use it work on some things, stay healthy, etc. The cards are stacked so heavily against the Griz in that game that it's best to just focus on what really matters: the conference title.
 
just more info for those who care ..Davidson is sort of the east Gonzaga..a true basketball power ..alums have made it to NBA..ever heard of Stephen Curry? team made it to elite 8 in 2008..just a very tough draw..all 5 starters from last years team are back this season ..very good bball program, with a very established and probably hall of fame coach...at any rate GO Griz...Cherry & Jammar shock the world! But what ever ..no more conf losses!!! Host that tourney...please? I want to go..
 
With Ward out for this game there is no time like the present for Hutchison and the rest of the frontline to step up and put on their "big boy" pants. In that respect the injury to Ward may be a blessing. There is no question that going into the last 4 conference games of the season we will have to have better play down low. What better time to work on that than against Davidson?

Well, we lose one of those and we pack our bags for Ogden. Win those, and we stay at home. If we beat Davidson, we say, "wahoo". If we lose, we say, "oh well". So yes, I'd say it might be necessary, because two games matter, and one doesn't.

Yea, you are right. The Davidson game is more for national recognition and will give the committee something to look at "when" the Griz have to be seeded. This team still has a 1 game lead with 4 to play, not a bad place to be to have your destiny in your hands..Weber has to rely on Montana helping them. They can win out and still head to Missoula.

I fully understand the importance of the games and which ones are more important. I can see tossing in a lil MSU and SUU, but i just wouldnt think the game plans for those are going to be so in depth that 2 full weeks or prep are required
 
Davidson looks tough. Number 1 team and number 1 individual (Vancouver native Nik Cochran) free throw shooting in the country. Probably have the best coach in the country in Bob McKillop. And their fans (especially D Block and Section 12) make the Cameron Crazies at Duke look tame in comparison. And the kids are smart, too -- most turned down the chance to play in the Ivy League because the academics were sub-par. When they are in rhythm they are unstoppable. Just ask Vandy, West Virginia, and most recently Furman. Love the Griz but gotta give this one to the Wildcats from Davidson. Sorry, Coach.

Really? I searched all the channels and did not find ESPNU. Or could it be that we were Bresnan subscribers and when Optimum bought Bresnan, they stuck those former bresnan subscribers with a different channel lineup. But, when I look up the channel guide, it does say Optimum. When I lookup channel 133, it is not ESPNU. Something that is totally different.

You've just described your problem. Optimum did not change anything you had with Bresnan. I had a similar experience. Give them a call, they'll hook you up.
 
Rumor has it the Tinkle will treat the Griz to a real Southern pre-game meal of shrimp and griz, oops, make that shrimp and grits, at Davidson's finest dining establishment, Restaurant Z. (Rumor says the Kardashians ate there when they were checking out colleges for the kid. And Donald Trump reportedly ate there when he was in town to buy a local golf course and look for evidence of Obama's Kenyan birth. Not sure why Davidson is relevant to Kenya, but the local Presbyterian church supposedly has a Kenya connection.). The Wildcats reportedly will skip their pre-game meal so their appetite for bear meat will be stoked. Maybe ESPN will check out the statue of the Wildcat outside Belk Arena--chances are that he'll have a bear in his mouth. Go Griz!

I've got Dish Network & ESPNU has never been in HD! Does anyone out there get ESPNU in HD?

Call them. I called them and they sent a signal to my receiver and it is all up and running. Something about sometimes the receivers don't pick up a new channel.

The guy was super helpful.
 
I do appreciate that Optimum finally put up the money to get their subscribers ESPN3, but it sure seems like every game I actually want to watch is blacked out. Bleh.
