Certainly not the result we were looking for tonight, but it's only one loss, and this was still a very good road trip. Weebs will not win in Missoula.
 , Sounds like you enjoyed the Ass kicking.

We were up by 23 at one point. Lillard was on a bum foot, & didn't shoot well & 1st team All-Conference Bullinger didn't score at all, not himself yet...., but he will be by the end of Feb.

I'd enjoy kicking your ass, but that'd be too easy....

And the GRIZ were without one of their posts, and Selvig was so ill he was taking intravenous fluids prior to the game and OBVIOUSLY he wasn't himself. It was a nice weeeeeeebs win. Enjoy it. You'll be on the other end in Missoula (and again in the BSC finals). But hey, I'm sure weeeebs will represent the BSC well in the CIT tournament.

  and you said there was a good to decent chance we would be very disappointed... I said Zero, Zilch, Nada & I predicted a 16 pt victory to match Weber's win last year in Ogden... I was spot on as I was when I predicted UM would beat MSU in the brawl of the wild by 3 touchdowns 3 weeks before the game I think I'll take my own predictions to the bank. I know PeauxRouge would take mine over yours..... and as for UM winning in Missoula or in the title game in Ogden, it ain't happenin my friend

What's up with Stewart fouling out with 16+ minutes remaining? Coaching mistake? I don't remember ever seeing someone foul out so early.

HEY!!! Purple posted something that's actually correct. He's right that UM will not be weeeeeeebs in the title game in ogden.

UM will beet weeeeeeeeeeebs in the title game in MISSOULA.

Glad to see you finally contributing something of value to the board, purple.

Not a lot of options for Tinks with Reader out and Selvig sicker than a dog. He had to stick with Art as long as he could.

Lillard is one hell of a player, one of the best ever in the big sky already, and certainly so when his college career is done...but rodney stuckey, he is not...not even close...there is no comparison...stuckey was taken 15th overall in the nba draft after his soph. season at ewu...he wasnt some 7 footer drafted that high on potential...he was a 6'5" guard that was so out of place in the big sky it was absolutely comical...

While this was a tough loss for the Griz, I don't think it's the end of the world. This game was a combination of Weber hitting some big shots at big moments from several guys and the Griz struggling to get their shots to fall. It very easily could have been a much closer game. Sometimes games just go like that, even with tough in your face defense to challenge them. Weber had a few guys get on a roll and it bacame infectious to where several players hit some tough shots when they needed them most.

When you look at the way the Griz have been playing the last few weeks, along with the additional motivation from the loss at Weber, I think they'll have a chance to do very well for the rest of conference play and could knock off Weber when they come to Missoula.

Lillard is a first round talent by a number of different organizations. He is moving up because this is a weak point guard class. He is ranked 25 by Chad Ford, 12 by Doug Gottleib, and in a couple of other publications is labeled as a fringe lottery guy. He probably won't get the pub that Stuckey was, but he might be a better pro. I think his ranking might be higher if he weren't playing at Weber State.

Both of the articles that discuss Lillard are insider articles on ESPN. he is the most complete guard to come through this league in quite a while. He has great handle skills, ability to defend, and is pretty deadly beyond 3. The only knock is he isn't a pure PG, but a PG/SG combo.

As much as I love Cherry, Lillard is Chris Paul and Cherry is Rajon Rondo. Both great guards, but one is in a different class. Cherry will get a look in the NBA, but Lillard has a chance to stick.

Indeed, I too as a life long Celtics fan would take Rondo as well. Love the guy. Frustrates the piss out of me sometimes though. His jumper is absolutely horrid.

I don't know if Lillard can be a better pro than Stuckey or even has that potential, but I do believe he is better suited for the college game and that is why I said I would take him any day over Stuckey in the college ranks. Stuckey never elevated the Eagles the way that Lillard does with Weebs.

Hard to determine that. Stuckey, very seldom had a very good supporting cast, and the more amazing how far he carried those EWU teams. Give Stuckey the Weber State roster, and they still dominate, as does Stuckey.

I remember Stuckey's FR year, after the game in Missoula, LK came out and said that Stuckey was a NBA player, and he could not wait for him to move on. He said it in a very complimentary way too. :thumb:

Lillard is a better shooter, but Stuckey the better overall player with, defense, rebounding, ball handling, drawing fouls, and penetrating. Lillard should have a solid NBA career. I honestly will not be surprised to see Cherry there too. :thumb:

Lillard's knock is that he is playing for Weebs and not UNC or some Pac12 school. Stuckey to me strikes me as an athlete who can play basketball. Lillard on the other hand is a basketball player who happens also to be an athlete. Stuckey has all the athletic intangibles that a pro team would want. Lillard isn't the athlete that Stuckey was, but as Mtgrizrule said there are intangibles that Lillard has that Stuckey didn't. Lillard is a gamer.

As for Cherry, I think he has pro ability, but not in the same way that LIllard does.

lol sorry but its hard not to laugh at some of the comical things said here...first off, since many crazy things are possible, i hate to say never, but NOTHING Lillard has shown us would indicate that he would be a better pro than rodney stuckey, the guy that led Detroit to trade away Chauncey Billups, and the guy that just signed another contract extension of 3 years $25 million...

...And to say that Lillard is a better college player than Stuckey because Lillard has elevated Weber higher than Stuckey did EWU?...lol to use the expression "apples and oranges" would be an understatement here...

Remember weber st. last year?...pretty good team, huh?...top 3 in the league, competitive all year long...Lillard didnt play most of the season for them last year and they were still a pretty good basketball team...they have a handful of really nice ball players and a great coach, thats why theyre better than EWU was...EWU was garbage the 2 years Stuckey played

Lillard is absolutely one of the most complete guards in the country this year, and definitely one of the best in big sky history...but to this point, and he is no rodney stuckey...and while i have no doubt hes an nba player, again, he is no rodney stuckey
