First game of the season was a long time ago. Its hard to beat any team twice and even harder to beat Jack Johnson after hes seen you before. Sure Butte could win but CMR has got a lot better since the first time they played, I dont think you can say Butte has improved as much even though they are a solid team.

CMR-35
Butte - 27

The hung out to dry, jump balls that Cook throws will be picked off this go around.....CMRs defense shines.

Didn't CMR get beat by West, and then barely get by them last night, a team that Butte beat badly this season too? Also, didn't that shining defense give up 340 yards through the air to West? I think it will be a good game, but Butte will win.

Hey, I'm glad to see you've come over to my way of thinking about play-maker QB's who throw shit up and call it a "pass".

This weeks games are very interesting:

#1 Glacier (9-2) hosts #5 Bozeman (8-3)
Earlier in this season Bozeman traveled to Glacier in what can only be described as a bare knuckle fight. I happen to be at the game and can say I have never enjoyed a 7-3 game as much as this one. Defense was hard hitting and defined what both O's were trying to do. Glacier won the game and knocked Bozeman's QB out late in the game with a sholder injury. The Bozeman QB (Weyer) returned last week and lead Bozeman to two late TD's to stun the Helena Bengals. This is a game of the top two Defenses in the state and it would be hard to see a high scoring afair, but I do think there will be a lot more points then the first game they played.
I got Glacier 21-14.

#2 Butte (9-2) hosts #3 CMR (9-2)
In the first game of the year in late August Butte beat CMR 41-20. It was the first of many high scoring games for Butte. Butte is now know as the team with all the O and not much D. It has worked well for them and they look to continue the onslaught against a much improved CMR team. In the first meeting, I have a feeling that CMR was not prepared for the air attack of Butte and thought they would see more of a banaced game. This time around I expect a lot closer game and a lot less scoring. CMR likes to grind it out and will atempt to shorten the game by running the ball ALOT! Look for QB read by the CMR offense about 20-25 times on Friday. The game is in Butte where the Bulldogs have been mighty tough...
Butte sneaks by 28-24

After posting above I realized that I picked all home teams to win. If I had to guess on an upset, I would go with Skyview over Butte. If its snowy and Skyview can run the ball they might be able to get out of Butte with the W...

You can't win in Butte!!! At any level.....

BTW... who is you?

"You" is any football team, any level, playing in Butte - "you" get "homered", and the fans throw rocks at your buses. Players need to come into the stadium with helmets on! 8-)
Actually, Butte has it going this year and Naranche stadium should be the place to be Friday night. Jack Johnson's Rustlers will ruin the Bulldog's night!

Two interesting games this weekend in AA. Weather is changing - supposed to be teens for highs and below zero for lows. Butte, Glacier & Bozeman all like to throw the ball while CMR seems to be more of a ground and pound team. This could be an advantage for CMR. Glacier and Bozeman both have strong defenses - combine that with the weather and this could be a 7-3 game again. Dont sleep on the Hawks as they are healthy for the first time since week 4.

Oh brother
maybe 40 years ago but that stuff doesn't happen in Butte anymore than any other town these days. As for getting homered I'm not sure how that could happen now since in the playoffs it's always an out of town officiating crew, last week against Skyview the officials were a Great Falls crew.

Butte's defense may not be their strong point, but they did all but shut down the powerful Skyview running game last week. I have a feeling that CMR will need to throw the ball (Skyview moved the ball through the air last week) more than they like to in able to beat Butte. I anticipate a much closer game this time around, but Butte pulls it out 34-31.

As for the Glacier-Bozeman game, I have a feeling Bozeman will come out on top this time around. The Hawks beat a tough Helena team on the road last week (I thought Helena would have been in the chipper). Glacier has had tough games their last two weeks, and with the Hawks QB back, I anticipate an upset. Bozeman 17-14

Standings
#1 Glacier 8-2
#2 Butte 8-2
#3 CMR 8-2
#4 Helena 8-2
#5 Bozeman 7-3
#6 West 7-3
#7 Skyview 6-4
#8 Capital 5-5

#1 Glacier vs #8 Capital
Just two weeks ago Glacier dominated the second half and beat Capital 33-7. It was Glaciers D that was the show holding Capital to only 110 yards in ths whole game. Capitals longest drive was a 21 yard TD drive after a Brekke interception. Its hard to beat a team twice in three weeks, but Capital has lost 5 out of the last 7 with wins only over 1-9 Flathead and 2-8 Great Falls High.
Glacier 35-10

#2 Butte vs. #7 Skyview
These two played on August 31st in Billings and it was a 55-48 shootout win for Skyview. I think this game will be similar because Butte's O is #1 at 42 PPG and Skyviews is #3 at 35 PPG. On the D side Butte and Skyview are the #8and #9 teams. This is going to be played in Butte so weather might be a challenge. Its a high flying air show vs. a high scoring ground game...
Butte wins 42-41

#3 CMR vs. #6 West
They played 3 weeks ago in Billings with West sneaking out with a 28-24 win. West has been the most up and down team all year as thier 3 loses have been by an average of 23 points. CMR should win this game... hard to beat CMR at home.
CMR wins 28-24

#4 Helena vs #5 Bozeman
Both these teams were ranked #1 at some point this year, only to lose. Helena has to feel a bit snake bitten as they ended up 4th in a tiebreaker with 4 teams. This should be a good one.
Helena wins in OT 28-21

This isn't intended as smack, but Butte embarrased Skyview up and down the field all Fri night, with the excemption of a few long passes by Skyview. The score could have EASILY have been 56-21. It was 40-21 however.

Butte uncharactaristically missed two extra points. Soph speedster WR Dalton Daum was twice wide open deep in the endzone and flat-out dropped two sure TDs (had the ball go right through his arms/bred basket). I won't count one of those because Butte still ened up scoring on one of those drives. Plus with 5 or 6 min remaining in the game, Butte got the ball and ran the play clock down before every snap, and just ran it up the middle. They still got all the way down to the goal-line. But instead of punching it in, they took a couple knees at the goal-line. Very classy.

Butte's offense is easily the #1 offense in the state, with Cam Newton at QB.

Butte's defense might have been #8 as someone stated, but they held Skyview's vaunted running game to a couple scores less than their average this time in Butte. The Dogs run D looked great! It was their pass D that looked like the #8 defense and is where Skyview moved the ball (when the did  ).
