Let's get this week started. :!:

What adjustments do you think our coaches will make this week to get a W at home?

What schemes can they implement to improve our red zone efficiency on offense?

What schemes can they implement to limit UND's running game?

Many slant passes, and or very short routes to protect Simis.
Get the ball to Horner and Roberts across the middle. This will free up Henderson and Jones for the long pass.
Get Calhoun the ball 25 times +.
More Jim Beam Fire please!

Love me some Sun Tzu on a Monday.

What does fireball taste like? Not judging.

More fire than balls. Hope that helps.

I hope to see the quick screen more on 1st downs. 3 receiver set, near reciever steps back to catch ball, other 2 recievers block straight ahead of them. Its seems like thats alwas good for a solid 5-6, just as affective as a run to start a series.

I have no clue what they'll actually do but it's probably much better than anything I'd come up with. That said, here's what this message board poster fan would do;

Adjustments - Defensively just 1 thing, play with 1 safety a little deeper than the current cover-2 stuff we've seen. As a Packers fan up until this horrific showing yesterday where the pass D vanished they had great success with a set they called "Okie" where they'd play a single safety really deep to prevent home runs. It seems the big pass plays that get our defense are on trick plays or deep pass plays. If there was a deeper safety watching that I wonder if it would help. Not saying do it all the time but use it from time to time.

Offense go with the strength that is Makena Simis - a lot more zone reads and run plays. Use his feet, get him out in space. More quick throws, short routes, etc. Little to no long-ball shots and don't put him in a lot of positions where he doesn't need to hold the ball a long time. UND is a great pass rushing team and our O-line has not protected well. Having Simis to stand in the pocket for 4-5 seconds is asking for trouble. Get Calhoun more involved this week. Look to your speedy guys for the fly sweep and bubble scree plays, give Ellis and Jamaal a shot at a few short routes.

Red zone. Uh.... Counts? Or maybe bring back the "heavy" package that we've not seen since CPSLO. Get some more blockers out there.

UND's running game is their strength but overall their offense isn't the best. I'd say use a similar plan to the Poly game - maybe even go 4-4-3 a bit. Yeah I know that goes against the first point I had. We've got 5 really good linebackers, get more of them on the field out there.

Script plays for opening drive(s) based on film study of UND, run the script, make adjustments as necessary.

In other words, leave this to the professionals.

Meh. A little bit of football discussion, lots of booze discussion, a bit of discussion about balls. Just missing discussion about food and women, and this tailgate would be complete.
