They lost to an FBS team.

IMO, an FCS W > an FBS L. ;)

Disagree. Very impressive performance by UNI. Much more impressive than most FCS wins.

Agree in UNI's case. They had the most impressive performance for an FCS team this weekend IMO.

So Youngstown State drubbing Big East Pitt wasn't impressive? Hmm, ok...

Well, obviously that was a tremendous win. I was just blown away that UNI damn near beat #12 Wisconsin at home. If they had pulled it off, it would be the second biggest FCS-FBS upset next to AppSt-Michigan.

I think all the pollsters are very aware of what has happened in Missoula over the last several months, not the least of which is the loss of a QB who took us to the championship game last year. If we continue to win we will move up the polls quickly. In other words this team is going to have to earn everything they get. Wouldn't have it any other way!

Sure, it was a great performance, but that stuff happens every season...still a loss at the end of the day. YSU kicked Pitt's asses - I would say that's more impressive than a narrow loss.

I admit that I completely overlooked Youngstown's win over Pitt. My bad...

This has been a good year for FCS-FBS games though.

what???

yet another delusional fizz fan :o

You'll have to excuse 37. When you've been to the championship as often as the GRZ, it becomes difficult to keep all the trips straight.

Now, as a cat fan, not having been there since 1936 ( or whatever( its pretty damn easy to remember them.

Interesting.... beating Chadron State garners a team a first place vote?
must be the Griz voter just preparing the scats for another top rank drubbing at the end of the year.

Actually it cost MSU 2 first place votes FWIW. They had 3 in the preseason poll. Lost the confidence of two voters.

Not that any of this actually matters....it's all BS to me.

impressive losses are so important
And an unimpressive "pull your head out of your arse in the fourth quarter against a bottom of the heap body-bagger" victory gets you ranked #12 in the polls. Just sayin'.

My bold predictions.
I think EWU will outright win the BSC this year, they are rated to low. Montana State is rated to high, they have lots of players but their O-line will cripple them. That problem is unfixable; those guys are too young and inexperienced. Montana will finish in the top 10.
The top four this year will be EWU, SHSU, NDSU and NI. Youngstown State and Delaware might surprise as well.

Thought you didn't watch the game...we only had about 10 bad minutes before and after half combined. Looked pretty darn good to me. Pretty sure we didn't score any points in the 4th quarter.

...all good choices! EWU will be as good as their new wonder boy, but like any qb situation, a long season ahead and the key is what else Eagles have if or when their passing game goes off the rails. I too think EWU is the team to beat, wish we had em at home. Padron stays healthy - EWU wins out. MSU is a bit suspect, I think they are not deep enough...and for UM-well......we have a very tough month in front of us, will be difficult to win out.

UNI should celebrate hard right now.

Much like folks like to think of UM as the Buffalo Bills of the FCS, I think of UNI as the Elgin Baylor.

Only 2 CAA teams in the Top 10. Top CAA team is #5. Somethin aint right here.

UNI had the best FCS-FBS game of the week IMO. I mean Wisconsin!? Wow. Damn.

Methinks Wis needs reassessing. They're making Ore St look GOOD.

You can choose to adjust your principals to fit your actions or you can choose to adjust your actions to fit your principals.

Which do you choose
