I listened to the KGVO Coaches Show and picked up a few tidbits. Krysko was interviewed for a short period of time by phone. He was in the Denver Airport on his way to the National JC Tournament (in Kansas, I think). He spoke quite highly of Gus Chase, both in terms of basketball skills and personality. He compared him to the type of forwards BC had and used the term "program changer" to describe him. He is obviously very high on him. Aside from watching Gus, he spoke of doing a little scouting there. The rest of the program consisted of Mick interviewing Wayne and a few calls from the audience. Wayne spoke very highly of Austin Swift, Matt Martin and Bryan Ellis. He was very complimentary of the patience and attitude displayed by Martin and Swift in spite of limited playing time. It sure sounds like both of them will be back next year. He also speculated that Vanderjagt may not want to come from Australia and then sit out a year. It sounds like whether he redshirts has yet to be decided. He also spoke highly in terms off Eric Van Vliet's future and said Eric, along with Swift and Sharp will be encouraged to hit the weight room. He also spoke at some length about how proud he was of Mike Chavez and the progress he's made. He also mentioned Matt Dlouhy. I think he was talking in terms of Matt's role as a senior next year. I don't recall exactly what he said but it certainly sounds like Matt will return. He said that the GRIZ were trying to schedule a couple of Big Ten teams next year (Illinois and Michigan State) in order to be better prepared for the NCAAs. He also talked of a home game with Boise State. He said they would be looking to have Jordan H play the 3 next year and that he would need to lose a little weight and work on his athleticism. When the subject turned to Kryskos future, not much specific was said. However, Mick referred to Wayne as the heir apparent and also said Governor Schweitzer was going to work on the current coaches contract situation in the next legislative session. End of ramble and I'm sure I left some stuff out. :thumb:
