Still can't believe she is not playing for the Lady Griz.

She could not play for the Lady Griz because her coach stipulated that as a condition of releasing her from her scholarship.

Only problem with that is they are referring to ISU Coach Jon Newlee..... :naughty:

Nice try, I see your trying to stir the pot. The fact is that if you transfer within the conference you must sit out 2 years.

xactly

I remember one player transferring from Montana State (due to Robin Potera-Haskins :rocket:) and transferred to Idaho State. I guess she only sat out a year before playing again at ISU. The player's name is Joanna Hixon, I think. My guess is that transfer rules apply to intra-conference transfers as well.

you are correct, salmon is clueless

Your right, the BSC is one a handful of conferences that allow intra-conference transfers while sitting only one year.

As to the clueless remark, that was pretty childish.

My turn: :finger:

Hixon transferred to a JC (College of Southern Idaho), and then to ISU, but point taken.

We wish Molly well, and hopefully she'll be able to grow up and act like an adult. This quote is from Molly when she announced she was leaving ISU:

"I want people to know that it was not a decision based on the coaches, players or administration of Idaho State University," Hays said in statement released to the ISU sports information office. "This is a decision based on my happiness, and right now, my happiness is based on not playing basketball. I want to move on and try other things in my life."

Therein lies the problem -- Molly wasn't honest when she told the coach she was leaving the program. As soon as she was gone, she basically called back and said "oh yeah, I'm going to transfer to Colorado State and play for the former Boise State coach." What would you expect a coach to do? Newlee was pissed, and with good reason. You can bash ISU, me, or anybody else, but the fact remains, Molly handled this very poorly. For crying out loud, these are young adults, I have no problem with them changing their minds and wanting to go somewhere else, but have the honesty and decency to say so.

This was discussed on the ISU board 3-4 months ago...

Molly Hays will be playing for Colorado State. Go kick ass Molly!

Very rough time to go to CSU frankly. That is a program in trouble. MOlly made a good choice to not go there.

CSU article

After a disappointing 9-20 season, the CSU women's basketball team suffered even more losses last week. Five players from the 2005-06 team have decided not to come back and play for newly hired coach Jen Warden.

Redshirt freshman Casie Shepherd and junior guard Liz Kramer headline the list of players who will not be returning for next season.

"I quit because I don't respect (Warden) as a coach or the way she treated me and coached me," said Shepherd during a phone interview Tuesday. "I don't understand her coaching style.

Along with departing seniors Melissa Dennett, Vanessa Espinoza and Lindsay

Thomas, guard Justin Square and mid-season transfer Molly Hayes will look elsewhere for other opportunities.

Kramer has been offered to keep her scholarship to continue her academic and athletic career at CSU by competing in track and field, but has been discontinued from the basketball team.

As of now juniors Marilyn Mouton and Molly Nohr are going to be the only players back from the 2005-06 team. Sara Hunter is scheduled to meet with Warden today. With all the departures, the team will lose 82 percent of their offense.

"I think the program is going down hill, she tore our whole team apart thinking that all these freshmen are going to come in and compete in the Mountain West Conference," Shepherd said.
