I agree. As you know, I was concerned that if UM didn't get a seed, it would get a first round MV opponent.

I think it's total BS that what I view as the toughest conference got only 2 teams, just because the conference was so competitive. So Car St? You have to be kidding me. I recall when they got in over UM a few years ago, and then got blown out in the first round.

Multiple MV teams got to the 7 D-I win mark. Also, the committee announced that they would consider 6 wins teams this year.

Yep. The committee sent a message today saying that it is more important to have 8 wins than have a good SOS/GPI. However, once the NCAA version of the SRS is published, that may shed some light on the matter. That would explain why number of wins were valued over how competitive your schedule was.

Teams don't have a choice in scheduling their conference opponents. This is not about out-of-conference play, it's about playing in tough conferences, which sometimes beat each other up.

Just glancing over on the ndsu board and they are calling the big sky the "big fluffy" and a cupcake league. I hope nau or ewu can put a whooping on sdsu to quiet them up a bit. However, I can say I am happy that we don't have to play a mvc team for our playoff opener. I am a little surprised Youngstown st didn't get in. But like someone stated earlier, if they factor in how teams are playing towards the end of the season it is hard to argue putting in a team that has lost 3 in a row.
