Missoulian Letter to the Editor: Crowd Noice (WTF?)

Note to those that are going to say "Sit Down" or complain about noise. WaGRIZ is not a place for you, even more so come playoffs. Feel free to join in if you would like though. IF standing is a problem for you, I respect that, ask security to find a seat for you where a group or a few standing is not an issue. However, if you are physically able to stand, sorry I have no empathy for you, just join in. Who knows you might actually enjoy GRIZ football that much more.

Just as we expect our team to step it up in the playoffs, they expect us to do the same, "LOUD and PROUD"!

Here,Here....

Hold on before you jump all over the announcer something that may not have happened. What the hell is this based on? Is this G.R. Jamieson just pulling this stuff out of his ass?

There are certain things a "good" fan just doesn't do. That's just an etiquette thing. However, those things don't really apply to football. I mean, who bothers with those blasted thunder sticks at a football game? You just yell your lungs out, especially when the other team's kicker is on the field. Nothing wrong with that. That's just not the same, IMO, as banging a ton of thunder sticks under the basket when someone's shooting free throws. Not even close.

I just wish Sac fans knew the protocol for cheering at football games. They could easily have cost us the Causeway win as they cost us a win about 10 years ago. (You scream when the OPPONENT's team is on offense, particularly when their kicker is going for a game-winning FG. If you do that when your OWN is, you're just asking to lose.) Montana fans CLEARLY know the protocol.

Now I kind of question the way the Bobcats fired their cannon off just when our kicker was doing his thing.

Did the officials throw a flag on that?

Seems appropriate to share this here:

http://www.aircombatlegends.com/personal/griz.pdf

Back when Griz basketball was king and the students usually learned where the football stadium was in their second or third freshman year.

Does anyone remember a few years ago when someone living in the university district complained about the "noise" coming from the stadium on game day? Now we know who was doing the complaining!!!

Maybe the games should be held in secret climate controlled locations without crowds to make the game fair. In fact maybe we should not keep score so the feelings of the players does not get hurt.
Comments at the start of this thread are to PC for me, bring on the weather, fans and emotions that go along with college football. GO GRIZ, NEZ Loud and Proud!

People from the paper or who don't like the noise should sit in one of the boxes or watch the game on TV.

This guy Jamieson obviously doesn't know anything about football, cheering, or home field advantage!!

This should be more fuel on the fire for those of you going to the game to yell your a$$es off!!! And be even louder than last week.....and for the whole game this time. 8-)

Wish I could be there to assist in the NOISE, but I'm stuck home watching on TV.

Go GRIZ!! GO NEZ!!! GO LOUD and PROUD GrizNation!!!!!!

If standing up bothers you get a seat in the front row like I did. If noise bothers you buy a disposable pair of ear plugs before you come to the game. Better yet just stay home.

I'll begin paying more attention to tennis when they start allowing tackling after each serve!

refdesk.com lists a George R Jamieson, mid 80's, living in the 600 block of Brooks.

If he's the guy, he's so old that the Good Old Days for him were the Big Loser days of the mid 1950's.

He's not worth bothering with.

Why so surprised?

Typical Missoula and its liberal mentality, he is so much smarter than you and needs to educate all of you with his progressive intellect, hes probably in a union as well.

One more yahoo goosestepping to Hussein Obama and the downfall of the USA.

You cant be in a union and truly be a Montanan, it goes against anything and everything scared to living in this state. Land access, hunting, guns etc. You cant have it both ways.

Thank you alpha. Finally, at long last somebody has figured out that the real purpose of eGriz is to provide a forum for people to debate the relative merits of organized labor, gun control, and land access. Because ya know, whenever I want to get up to speed on any non-sports related current event, the first place I go is to eGriz so I can find out what alphagriz thinks. After all, he must know what he's talking about; he has internet access. You think they give that out to just anybody?

Well, got to go pick up a copy of Newsweek to see what they're saying about the Griz v. SFA.
