Bossi's take: UCSB has stolen one in the 6-foot-5 California native. Over the course of two games, Green went for 49 points and 21 rebounds, and was often the most dominant player on the floor. A slasher deluxe, he gets to the rim in a hurry and has the athleticism to finish over much bigger players. While you wouldn't classify him as a jump shooter, his jumper is certainly respectable and not something that could hold him back. Were he still available, high majors would undoubtedly be taking notice.

I know we were recruiting him not sure how close we were but sounds like we missed a good one. oh well just found that interesting.

KU and Duke would have a hard time keeping a kid on a recruiting trip to UCSB.

I've always wondered why UCSB doesn't recruit more top level guys on location, and lifestyle. They'd win against any school in the country on those two factors.

Some kids are more mature, and know there is more to life than being in a place like Santa Barbara. Actually, I would hope that MOST kids fall into that category.

There's more to life than being 18 and living in Santa Barbara and being on their one nationally recognized college sports team, and enjoying the benefits (crazy, stupid amounts of UCSB ass) that come along with that?

I'd like to hear a single thing in this life, just one, that trumps that.

Anyone should feel free to chime in.

I lived in Santa Barbara for years...nice place for older folks..not so cool for younger..Goleta is where UCSB is and it is a party atmosphere year round. But, the students there have nearly zero interest in athletics..in fact, that is the growing attitude on all UC campuses....the world is changing...

My wife is from the Santa Barbara area & after having lived in Montana for a few years & traveling the state, she doesn't even want to go back to Cali to visit. Maybe we can send Dub/Jollieballs to UCSB on a fan exchange program?

The talk shows in LA, this morning were filled with optimism about the new census figures showing California's growth steadying at 10%. We are hoping and optimistic that more and more will feel like your wife. God bless her....if only there were 10 million more like her....alas....

In all my travels to California, I have always thought the best thing about it was the view of it from my rearview mirror on the way out.

Isn't UCSB where Kirsten Tillman ended up? She isn't listed on the roster though < http://ucsbgauchos.cstv.com/sports/w-baskbl/ucsb-w-baskbl-body.html but I'm guessing that's because she has to sit out a year after transferring from Oregon State.

Yeah but, they're all heading north though. Why don't they just go back across the border to Mexico?

Ask them, not me....I like the immigrants...life is too short and hard to have issues about Mexicans or anyone else..we all end up the same...Merry Christmas, y feliz Navidad...
