I don't know if you could fairly compare the quality of basketball at a small school 30 miles outside of Minneapolis to a small Montana school 30 miles from the middle of nowhere. Perhaps by class size, but when a school is that close to a major metropolitan area it tends to get a much different student body, then what you might get in say Columbus.
Not to mention that if your kid is serious about basketball, there are more leagues and camps and clinics to play in just 30 miles down the road than the entire sum of Montana's non-high school programs. If you want your child to play against the best Minneapolis has to offer, you can drive him to town and get him involved in one of the many youth leagues with talent heads above Montana's AA high school division.
